(Minghui.org) Police from Qingdao arrested four Falun Gong practitioners in October 2014. One practitioner's leg was broken from the beatings and he was released on bail. Two more practitioners were also released on bail, while one practitioner is still in a detention center.
The arrested practitioners were: Mr. Zhang Dinggang, Mr. Niu Xibao, Mr. Wang Detong and Mr. Li Hongsheng.
Officers from the Qingdao 610 Office, Licang District 610 Office, Licang Police Department and Licun Police Station participated in the arrests.
Mr. Zhang, 48, was arrested on October 25. Police beat him and broke his left leg during the arrest. They ransacked his home and confiscated his Falun Gong books, two cell phones, a van and 16,000 yuan.
He was released on bail on October 27 and is currently bedridden due to his leg. He could not get medical treatment because the police took his money. His family is in despair. He cannot work and his wife has to take care of him, a 90-year-old parent, and their child.
The police refused to return the money and confiscated items even though Mr. Zhang's family have submitted many requests.
Mr. Niu, 52, had his home broken into when no one was there by officers from the Qingdao 610 Office and Licun Police Station on October 26. They ransacked the place and confiscated Mr. Niu's computers and 100,000 yuan, which belonged to his wife's business. The police also confiscated Mr. Niu's van and his son's car.
They refused to return the money and confiscated items, and took Mr. Niu to the Pudong Detention Center on October 27.
The police went to Mr. Wang's, 68, home on the evening of October 25, trying to ransack the place. Mr. Wang's family resisted and the police left.
Mr. Wang was released on bail the following evening.
Mr. Li, 48, had his home ransacked by police on October 25. They confiscated some of his personal belongings. He was taken to the Pudong Detention Center on the evening of October 27.
They refused to accept him, however, because he failed the physical exam. He was taken back to the Licun Police Station and released on bail the next day.
