(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners Ms. Lu Suping and her son, Mr. Jiang Nan, were illegally sentenced in November 2013. Their present whereabouts are unknown.
Ms. Lu, her son Mr. Jiang, and five more practitioners were arrested on December 8, 2012, while driving home from Jinzhou City. The car was confiscated by officers from the Jinzhou Police Department.
Ms. Lu was sentenced to three and a half years in prison and her son was sentenced to three years in prison without their family being notified.
Before being sentenced, Jin (surname), the deputy head of the Jinzhou Detention Center, demanded 180,000 yuan from the family, claiming that she would help get the two practitioners released.
After Ms. Lu and her son were sentenced, their family appealed, and the car and the majority of the money were returned to them.
Demanding Bribe for Arranging Release
When Ms. Lu and her son were held at the Jinzhou Detention Center, Jin, deputy head of the Jinzhou Detention Center said to the family, “If you give us 180,000 yuan, I can help get them released.” Ms. Lu's family borrowed the money at a high interest rate and gave it to Jin. But, the two practitioners were not released, instead they were sentenced to prison terms.
Incensed when they heard about the sentencing, Ms. Lu's family reported Jin to her superior and relevant departments, asking for their money and the car back.
Although the majority of the money and the car was returned, they were forced to pay 12,000 yuan for "maintaining" the car.
