Mr. Xu Changhong Arrested and His Home Ransacked in Xianning City

Mr. Xu Changhong was illegally arrested at his workplace, a pharmacy in Tongji Central Hospital, on the morning of March 29, 2014. His home was ransacked along with the home of his father-in-law.

Those involved in the arrest were Liu Ning from the Domestic Security Division, Wenquan Police Department of Xianning City, Zou Yu and three officers from the Xianning City Police Department. They were led by Lu Xueyu, the security guard from Tongji Central Hospital, and they arrested Mr. Xu while he was on duty, and snatched his keys from him.

Lu and two officers from Wenquan Police Department entered Mr. Xu's home without permission. No family member was home at the time. Officers made a big mess and overturned boxes, cabinets, and beds, and stole 7000 yuan, hard-earned money meant to pay for their son's school fees. They also took his son's computer, as well as Dafa books and Master's picture. Lu signed the list of confiscated items.

Around 4 p.m., Liu Ning, Zou Yu, and two officers, guided by the office director of the Xianning Academy of Agriculture, arrived at the home of Mr. Xu's father-in-law. They opened the metal gate, found Mr. Xu's wife at home, and pretended to be community staff.

Liu said, “We are from the police department. Xu Changhong has been sent to the Hubei Province Legal Education Center, and we are here to take a look in your house.” They overturned everything and stole over 30 yuan cash from Mrs. Xu's purse.

Police also took away Zhuan Falun and some Minghui Weekly papers. One officer did not listen to Mrs. Xu's pleading and threw Master's statue to the ground. Glass was everywhere, and he then tore up posters that were on the door. Another officer also threatened Mrs. Xu. They left with the confiscated items without issuing a receipt.

This same group of officers have entered private homes without any legal right and robbed people of whatever they wanted. They are guilty of illegal entry into a citizen's residence, robbery, theft, kidnapping, illegal search and seizure, illegal detention, and other crimes.
