(Minghui.org) As a Falun Dafa practitioner, I use the principles of Truthfulness- Compassion-Forbearance to measure myself and to clarify the truth to my colleagues in a company. Many people have understood the truth after coming into contact with me, and some of them now also use the principles of Falun Dafa to measure themselves in their daily lives. Let me share my experiences below.
Master said,
“Nowadays, whether in a state-run company or in other enterprises in this country, interpersonal conflicts have become very unique. In other countries and throughout history, this phenomenon has never occurred. Consequently, conflicts over self-interest are shown to be particularly intense. People play mind games and compete for a tiny bit of personal gain; the thoughts they have and the tricks they use are very vicious. Even being a good person is difficult.” (Lecture Four in Zhuan Falun)
I think that my working in a company is not coincidental. I can cultivate my xinxing in this environment of business management, clarify the truth, and save sentient beings.
I started out as a general clerk in a new company and was promoted to a department manager in three months. I had a tolerant attitude towards my supervisor when he made things difficult for me, and I resolved our conflicts. My boss said, “You are so upright. I feel confident when I hand these several hundreds of millions of assets to you.”
The young people in my department who came from various places looked down on each other, so I used the righteous human principles that I enlightened to from studying the Fa to awaken their kind thoughts. In less than two months, they learned how to take an appreciative view of the people around them, and this developed into an atmosphere of open communication.
Driven by our department, a culture of mutual assistance developed in the whole company. The more than 2,000 people in our company have been getting along harmoniously, and many people have also understood the truth about Falun Dafa.
Due to the persecution, I resigned from my original job in 2005 and started working at my current company as a general clerk. Supervisor A always treated me as an eyesore and often criticized me. I studied and memorized the Fa when I felt sad, and Master's Fa principles dissolved my grievance. Master said,
“You might claim that you actually did not know it at that time, and this life has nothing to do with the other life. That does not work.” (Lecture Four in Zhuan Falun)
After I let go of my attachment of resentment and grievance, he no longer treated me so badly.
Because my performance was good and I was very capable, I was promoted to department manager in three months. I also became A's supervisor. He was very jealous and deliberately caused problems. He claimed he couldn't do the tasks that were assigned to him. I looked inward and found that I was jealous, too, so I eliminated my jealousy and treated him with tolerance. However, I also told him directly that he should do his job well. Gradually, he stopped causing problems.
There was a new job opening in the company, and more than 20 people applied for it. My department was in charge of handling this. My former boss A applied for this job. After considering various factors, I felt that he was the most suitable candidate and recommended him. Later, A looked for me and said, “I was only trying my luck and thought that I definitely would not be selected because I caused so much trouble for you in the past. I did not think you would forgive and forget.”
I saw that the time was right and told him, “I practice Falun Gong. Our Master wants us to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance when doing things. Thus, I don't harbor resentment for you at all.” I continued to tell him that the Tiananmen Square “self-immolation” incident was a hoax that was fabricated against Falun Dafa by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and that the CCP blocked this news and did not allow the public to see it.
Finally he said, “I understand. I am full of admiration. Those who practice Falun Gong are really good people.”
My boss saw that I did things practically, am structured, and have strong executive abilities. Hence, I was promoted to be the department manager in three months.
Master said,
“We simply treat the issue of personal, vested interests with indifference, while in other areas we are very wise. In terms of conducting scientific research projects or carrying out assignments from our supervisors or other duties, we are very clear-minded and perform them very well.” (Lecture Nine in Zhuan Falun)
My boss often went on a business trip and asked me to supervise the work being done during the interim. I could effectively do all the work that she arranged as well the work she did not arrange, but had to be done. In this way, I gained her trust.
I encouraged her to put herself in the employees' shoes when thinking about the company polices and systems that were enacted and to put the employees' interests at heart. I also communicated with the employees so as to let them understand the boss. As a result, everyone got along harmoniously in the company.
Once, something unexpected happened. A security guard was found dead in the trash dumpster next to one of the dormitories.
My boss instructed me to take care of this. I used the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to guide myself when handing this situation. When the relatives of the deceased came, I told them calmly what had happened and took them to the police officers to hear the outcome of the investigation.
The relatives were very kind and did not have unreasonable demands. I spoke with my boss and asked her to try and meet the family's request. A large unexpected emergency was resolved peacefully in the righteous field of a Dafa disciple.
Afterwards, my boss thanked me. I told her, “Don't thank me. Please thank my Master instead.” I told her that I practice Falun Gong. She said, “I've seen many people practicing Falun Gong in Hong Kong and overseas. My mother used to practice, too. You are so upright. I feel confident with you handling these several hundreds of millions of assets.”
Eight young people in my department came from various places. Initially, they were often at odds with each other, causing the department not to be peaceful.
Master said,
“... our practitioners of this righteous way have this feeling: Because it comes from cultivation of a righteous way, it is benevolent and assimilated to Zhen-Shan-Ren, the characteristic of the universe. Therefore, all of our practitioners can feel it while sitting here in this field, and their minds are free of bad thoughts. In addition, while sitting here many practitioners do not even think of smoking. They feel an atmosphere of serenity and peace, which is very comfortable. This is the energy carried by a practitioner of a righteous way, and that is what it does within the scope of this field.” (Lecture Three in Zhuan Falun)
I told them about the pleasure that would follow when they treat people with sincerity, kindness, and tolerance. I praised employees who had upright behavior. When someone's behavior was incorrect, I used it as a case study and asked employees to discuss the correct way of handling it. The most important thing was that I required of myself that I strictly follow the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance.
In less than two months, they learned how to take an appreciative view of their fellow employees and did not complain of being at a disadvantage. When someone did not do well, everyone thought of a way to resolve it, and they could suggest improvements face to face and exchange their views openly.
Driven by our department, a culture of mutual assistance appeared throughout the whole company. Many people said to me, “Why can't I think of bad things when I'm with you? When I have some slight selfishness, it disappears when I'm in front of you, and I could not even say it out loud.”
I clarified the truth to them and told them how Master asks us to follow Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance to be a good person and that the surrounding energy field of cultivators is compassionate and peaceful. I also said that cultivating Falun Dafa is a Buddha Fa cultivation, and it is absolutely righteous. However, it is being persecuted. Having built such a solid foundation of trust and respect, they easily and quickly understood me.
I made use of various opportunities to clarify the truth at work. For example, when employees encountered difficulties and looked for me to resolve them, I clarified the truth to them after helping them resolve the difficulties. I let them understand that Falun Dafa is being framed and told them that remembering, “Falun Dafa is good; Truthfulness-Compassion- Forbearance is good” will give them blessings. When employees had a conflict and looked for me to help resolve it, I used the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion- Forbearance to reason it out and told them about these principles of being a good person, the pleasure of tolerating others, and to use them to get along harmoniously.
Some of my colleagues who get along with me have better enlightenment than others. Not only do they understand the truth, they even use the principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance that they comprehend as their standard for behavior. Although they do not cultivate in Dafa, they are becoming better people, and this validates Dafa.
There is a colleague who was kind and willing to learn. However, he used to drag out his tasks and did not have strong execution. This is taboo in the corporate world because business opportunities can be lost if the task drags on.
Other than telling him about my management experience, I also helped him to change this bad habit and helped him grow. He progressed very quickly and became a department manager in two years. He is now a high level management executive in a company who uses his post to establish righteousness in the company and has done very well in his career.
