Additional Persecution News from China – May 25, 2014 (19 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during detention, and at least 24 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Shiyan, Hubei Province] Mr. Jiang Qixiang and Wife Ms. Qiao Liangyu Arrested

Mr. Jiang Qixiang and his wife Ms. Qiao Liangyu were arrested mid-May, 2014. Their whereabouts are unknown. Mr. Jiang is a doctor in the Central Hospital in Baoxia Town, Yun County, Shiyan.

2. [Yingkou, Liaoning Province] Mr. Chen Wentuo and Mr. Han Xi'ao Sentenced

Mr. Chen Wenduo and Mr. Han Xi'ao from Bayuquan District have been held at the local detention center for more than six months. It was said that they had been sentenced to three years and eight years' imprisonment, respectively.

3. [Qiqihar, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Shi Shixin Detained

Officers from the Xinlijie Police Station tricked Mr. Shi Shixin into going to the police station, with an excuse of needing signatures, on March 6, 2014. Mr. Shi was then arrested, and is being held in a detention center.

4. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Three of Mr. Qin Yongjie's Family Members Arrested

Mr. Qin Yongjie, his wife Chen Ruiyun and daughter Qin Xue were arrested by officers from the Domestic Security Division of Kuiduiwen Police Department on May 15, 2014.

5. [Anda, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Sun Lihua Detained

Ms. Sun Lihua was arrested by three plainclothes policemen while she was talking to people at Jinjiang Plaza about Falun Gong, on May 23, 2014. She is being held at the Anda Detention Center for a 15-day term.

6. [Qidong County, Hunan Province] Three Falun Gong Practitioners Arrested

Officers from the Qidong 610 Office and the Qidong Domestic Security Division went to Baidishi Town and arrested Ms. Li Baozhen, Ms. Li Yingchun and Ms. Deng Shunhua, in the evening of May 22, 2014. The police confiscated the practitioners' Falun Gong books and other property. Their whereabouts are unknown.

7. [Fushun, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Liying Taken to Prison

Ms. Liu Liying from Qingyuan, Fushun was sentenced to three and a half years' imprisonment in April 2014. She has been taken to the newcomer division of the Liaoning Provincial Women's Prison.

8. [Changde, Hunan Province] Mr. Zhang Aihua and Ms. Xiong Yuzhen Detained

Mr. Zhang Aihua and Ms. Xiong Yuzhen were arrested by officers from the Dongjiao Police Station in Wuling District when they were hanging Falun Gong banners on May 15, 2014. They were taken to the detention center.

9. [Benxi, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about the Arrest of Three Falun Gong Practitioners

Ms. Zhong Weiqin (50 years old), Ms. Niu Sanchun (63 years old) and Ms. Wang Guilan (73 years old) were arrested by officers from the Hexi Police Station while distributing Shen Yun DVDs in Xihu District on May 5, 2014. The police searched their homes. Ms. Wang was released that night. The other practitioners were held at the police station for 15 days, and then they were transferred to the Benxi Detention Center.

10. [Dalian, Liaoning Province] Additional Information about the Arrest of Ms. Zhao Hua and Ms. Wang Guihong

Ms. Zhao Hua and Ms. Wang Guihong from Dalijia Town, Jinzhouxin District, Dalian were transferred to the Houyan Detention Center on May 23, 2014.

11. [Weifang, Shandong Province] Four Falun Gong Practitioners Detained

Mr. Wang Linjiang, Mr. Cao Yaodong, Mr. Feng Baohua and Mr. Sun Guodong were taken to the detention center on May 15, 2014.

12. [Hefei, Anhui Province] Ms. Tang Juzhang Arrested

Ms. Tang Juzhang was arrested in Yaohai District by 610 Office personnel on the afternoon of May 22, 2014. Her whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Hainan Province] Mr. Luo Wende Detained

Mr. Luo Wende was arrested by officers from the Ledong County Police Station on May 22, 2014. He was taken to a brainwashing center in Shiziling Developing District, Haikou.

Ms. Yao Juying was arrested on May 23, 2014. She is being held at the Songjiang Detention Center.

15. [Huangmei County, Hubei Province] Additional Information about the Arrest of Mr. Yuan Jiyu

Mr. Yuan Jiyu was arrested in front of his home by plainclothes policemen from the Huangmei Domestic Security Division and the Konglong Town Police Station on the morning of May 15, 2014. His whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Chen Guohua was arrested by Tian Tao and other plainclothes policemen from the Jiyuqiao Police Station on May 23, 2014. She is being held at the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center.

Ms. Li Yingchun was arrested and her home was searched on the night of May 23, 2014. Ms. Li is an employee of the Qingshuitang Lead-Zinc Mine in Qidong County.

18. [Changzhou, Jiangsu Province] Mr. Chen Songlin Arrested

Mr. Chen Songlin from Jintan, Changzhou was arrested in his office on May 17, 2014. His home was ransacked. His whereabouts are unknown.

19. [Bazhong, Sichuan Province] Mr. Zhao Gangxian Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison

The Enyang District Court tried Mr. Zhao Gangxian on April 1, 2014 simply for raising awareness about Falun Gong and the persecution. It was announced on May 7 that he was sentenced to seven years in prison.

Mr. Zhao was arrested by local police on October 5, 2013. He has been held at the Bazhou District Detention Center.
