Two Falun Gong Practitioners from Nongan County, Jilin Province Arrested

(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners Mr. Wang Sanheng and Ms. Wang Tao from Helong Town, Nongan County, Jilin Province were arrested on May 13, 2014. They are now being held in detention centers. Mr. Wang suffers from severe gastric bleeding, but the police still refuse to let him go home.

Mr. Wang Sanheng and Ms. Wang Tao distributed information materials about Falun Gong and the persecution in Kaian Town on May 13, 2014, when an undercover policeman discovered them and took them to the Kaian Town Police Station. The police snatched Ms. Wang's house key and some of of her personal belongings. Eight Kaian Town police officers and three from the Helong Police Station were dispatched to ransack their homes.

They confiscated a portrait of Master Li, 40 Falun Dafa books, 108 copies of information material, DVDs, and three cell phones from Mr. Wang's home. From Ms. Wang's home, they confiscated four pictures of the Falun symbol, three printers, a DVD burner, three PCs, a tablet, 500 blank DVDs and over 10,000 yuan. The police also went to the home of Ms. Wang's mother-in-law to harass her, but she was not at home.

Family members later noticed bruises on Mr. Wang's face.

The family of Ms. Wang Tao went to the Kaian Police Station and asked that they return the confiscated property. The police refused to admit that they had taken any cash, and later said they only took around 9,000 yuan. Yet, they still refused to return it. They also refused to return any of the property, including Ms. Wang's house key.

The police took Mr. Wang and Ms. Wang to the Nongan County Police Department on the same day. Officers from the Domestic Security Division and team leader Tang Ke interrogated them until 1 a.m. the next day. Tang Ke beat Ms. Wang Tao and threatened both of them. Ms. Wang Tao admitted to the police's false accusations out of fear.

Mr. Wang Sanheng was taken to the Nongan County Detention Center and Ms. Wang Tao to the Changchun Third Detention Center in Jilin in the afternoon on May 14, 2014. Mr. Wang started to spit up blood after a few days. He was taken to the Nongan County Hospital and diagnosed with gastric cancer. Later, this diagnosis was changed to a severe gastric ulcer, which required surgery. Mr Wang was put on an IV for three days and then taken back to the detention center. Afterward, they took him to the Changchun Labor Camp Hospital.

Chang Hongyu, the director of the Kaian Town Police Station, told his family that Mr. Wang could be bailed out for medical treatment. He then reneged on what he had said and refused to see Mr. Wang's family again.
