(Minghui.org) After the persecution of Falun Gong started in 1999, a village official from Liaoning Province spared no effort in helping the police harass and persecute practitioners.
In 2008, this official was made a public security officer. During the 2008 Olympics, he worked with the police and went to the homes of many practitioners, pressuring them to sign statements to renounce Falun Gong. He then went a step further and went to the homes of practitioners who were not on the list.
He once went to a practitioner's house three times to search his home and pressure him to give up Falun Gong. The practitioner refused to comply, so he took the practitioner to the police station. The chief of police interrogated the practitioner and found nothing wrong, so he instructed the officer to take the practitioner home. However, the officer continued to lean on the practitioner to get him to sign a statement to renounce Falun Dafa. In the end, the chief had to take the practitioner home himself.
A few years later the public security officer was diagnosed with hip bone necrosis. Before that, his son had divorced, and the officer had been removed from his post for prostitution. Some of the locals felt that he was being punished for the crimes he had committed in persecuting Falun Gong practitioners.
By the end of 2013, he had had several surgeries on his hip. Many local practitioners believed that he deserved another chance and clarified the truth about Falun Gong to him. In the end, he regretted what he had done to the practitioners. Both he and his wife quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliates.
There were two CCP secretaries in a certain town in Henan Province. They lived on the same street and used to have the same job. The older secretary understood the facts about Falun Gong and quit the CCP and its affiliates. The younger secretary slandered Falun Dafa and had a bad attitude toward Falun Dafa. Their lives have turned out very differently.
The older secretary, Liu, has been retired for almost ten years and is in his 70s. Two years ago he quit the CCP and its affiliates. In the past few years, Liu has been driving his grandson to school and back, and never has had a problem. His son and daughter-in-law were in the business of making down jackets. Every winter (over 4 months) they made more than 200 thousand yuan (~US$ 32,000) despite the business slowing down. Last year Liu bought an apartment in the city, where all six members of his family live together and are happy.
The younger secretary, Zhang, in his 50s, refused to listen to practitioners clarifying the truth and didn't want to quit the CCP. In August and September of 2012 he worked with the county 610 Office, and displayed posters that slandered Falun Gong on the wall of his office building that faced the main street. That same year his son drowned in the bathtub at home when he was drunk. His son was in his 30s at the time.
