(Minghui.org) A Beijing man was arrested on September 7, 2014 for using bills with information about Falun Gong at a local farmers market. The local procuratorate charged him nearly four months later, and he is currently awaiting trial at Changping Detention Center.
Mr. Lü Shangchun (吕尚春) went to the market to exchange 100 one-yuan bills for a 100-yuan bill. An individual reported him to the market administration, who notified police at the Longyuan Police Station. Police and officers from the Domestic Security Division arrested him and confiscated the bills.
The police went to his house and workplace, but were unable to get any information about Mr. Lü. The police confiscated his printer, but didn't find anything that pointed to him printing the messages on the bills.
He was taken to the Changping Detention Center on the night of his arrest.
The arrest of Mr. Lü was approved on October 11, 2014 and he was transferred to the Beijing First Detention Center. After two months of investigation, the Beijing Public Security Bureau submitted his case materials to the Beijing Municipal Procuratorate on December 10, 2014.
The procuratorate filed a lawsuit against Mr. Lü with Changping District Court on December 24, 2014, and he is now awaiting trial at the Changping Detention Center.
