(Minghui.org) Ms. Lu Ling from Genhe City, Inner Mongolia, died in a hospital on October 16, 2014. She was only 36 years old. She was incarcerated twice in forced labor camps and illegally sentenced to five years of imprisonment.
When she was on the brink of death, Ms. Lu was released from the Hohhot Prison in 2012. She had been subjected to years of torture and abuse because she practiced Falun Gong.
2010 Arrest
Ms. Lu was arrested at her brother's house on January 16, 2010. The police ransacked her home and confiscated her personal belongings.
She was sentenced to five years in prison in October 2011 and taken to the Hohhot Prison. When she was in critical condition a year later due to abuse in detention, the prison released her to avoid being held responsible for her potential death.
Twice Held in Labor Camps
Ms. Lu was first arrested in 2001. After being detained for about a year, she was taken to the Tumuji Forced Labor Camp in March 2002 and subjected to two years of forced labor, during which time she was tortured.
Ms. Lu was arrested at a Falun Gong truth-clarification materials production site in December 2005. She went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal detention. When she was force-fed, food went into her trachea, and she went into shock.

Ms. Lu was unable to walk as a result, so the police dragged her into a car and took her to the Hohhot Forced Labor Camp. There she underwent another round of abuse and developed a chronic cough and asthma. She was locked in solitary confinement for nine months and subjected to brainwashing.
Ms. Lu's prison term was extended for four months because she refused to renounce Falun Gong. She was released in May 2008.
