(Minghui.org) It was recently confirmed that a former fencing champion in Jinan City, Shandong Province died in September 2009, shortly after she jumped out of a window from her fourth-floor apartment during a police raid.
Ms. Shi Yuying, who lived by herself, was targeted by the local police because she refused to give up her belief in Falun Gong, a self-cultivation system that is brutally persecuted by the communist regime.
The police who ransacked Ms. Shi's home remain tight-lipped about why she jumped from her apartment building, and there is speculation of foul play. She had been arrested several times in the past for spreading information about the persecution of Falun Gong.
Ms. Shi's employer, a municipal-owned entity, had attempted many times to pressure her into renouncing Falun Gong, but she refused. The local authorities then stopped issuing bonuses to the Jinan City Workers' Union.
One of her coworkers was heard saying to others, “Now that Shi Yuying is gone and we can finally receive our year-end bonus!” The person who overheard the conversation set off to investigate what happened and confirmed Ms. Shi's death.
