(Minghui.org) Before I began to practice Falun Dafa, I did not think that I was jealous of anyone and was glad to see my family, friends and colleagues do well. Even after I started to cultivate, I thought that jealousy was the least of my vices when compared to others, and it was easy to let go.
Master said,
“But, usually when a conflict comes along, if it doesn’t provoke you, it doesn’t count, it doesn’t work, and you won’t be able to improve from it.” (“Zhuan Falun”)
I recently submitted an experience sharing article to the Minghui website. Then, I shared this article with an elderly practitioner. She told me that she also wanted to write on the same topic. She read my article and said, “Your sharing article is great! We are so fortunate to have someone like you in our area!” I felt proud and self-complacent.
A couple of days later, this practitioner asked my wife, to submit her article to Minghui. My wife showed it to me and wondered what I thought of it. I mumbled something like, “Not too bad,” and meant that her article was not as good as mine.
The fellow practitioner stopped by at my home the next day and asked me what I thought about her sharing article. I said, “It's fine. It's not bad at all for someone of your age,” and thought, “I have published two articles on Minghui. How can your writing be as good as mine?”
However, when I visited the Minghui website a few days later, I was surprised to see her article published. I have to admit I was jealous, and felt it was unfair that my article was not published.
Master said,
“These two different ways of thinking bring about different results. So that can stir up jealousy, and people then get upset when something good happens to other people, instead of being happy for them. That’s what happens...There’s a rule: a person who doesn’t get rid of jealousy while cultivating cannot achieve a True Fruition—he definitely won’t achieve a True Fruition.” (Zhuan Falun”)
I realized that I still was jealous and Master exposed it. I have to eliminate it.
My fellow practitioner said that writing an experience sharing article is the process of making improvement. It's not that important whether the article would be published or not. But it's important that I let go of my jealousy, zealotry, attachments to fame, arrogance, and all kinds of other attachments from the micro level of my life. This will help me raise my cultivation level.
