(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 13 cities or counties in 9 provinces. According to this report, 5 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 13 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Xingtang County, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Huanping Sentenced to Seven Years in Prison

Ms. Yang Huanping was arrested on November 15, 2013. She was sentenced to seven years in prison by the Qiaoxi District Court, Shijiazhuang City, on September 8, 2015. She has appealed to the Shijiazhuang Intermediate Court.

2. [Chongqing] Mr. Deng Xinzhe Arrested

Mr. Deng Xinzhe, 69, is a retired teacher from the Chongqing University of Arts and Sciences. He was arrested by officers from the Yongchuan District Domestic Security Division in mid-September 2015 for mailing a registered letter about the persecution of Falun Gong to top officials of the Political and Legal Affairs Committee and the police department. He signed the letter.

3. [Foshan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Liu Shuizhen Arrested

Eight or nine people, including officers from the Diejiao Police Station, the 610 Office, and security guards, arrested Ms. Liu Shuizhen on October 2, 2015, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers confiscated Falun Dafa books, a tablet PC, an MP3, and 600 yuan worth of paper bills with facts about Falun Gong printed on them. Ms. Liu was released eight hours later.

4. [Haicheng City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Li Yuchun Detained

Ms. Li Yuchun was arrested by officers from the Haicheng City Domestic Security Division and the Xiguang Police Station on October 2, 2015. She is being held in the Anshan No. 1 Detention Center.

5. [Hulunbuir City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Mr. Ao Qingrong and Ms. Lei Xiuxiang Detained

Mr. Ao Qingrong and Ms. Lei Xiuxiang from Dayangshu Town, Oroqen Autonomous Banner, were arrested by the head of the Oroqen Autonomous Banner Domestic Security Division and other officers on September 16, 2015. Both practitioners were taken to the Oroqen Autonomous Banner Detention Center.

6. [Jiangmen City, Guangdong Province] Mr. Li Jianrong and Wife Ms. Dong Zixiang Arrested

Mr. Li Jianrong and his wife Ms. Dong Zixiang from Heshan City were arrested at home by officers from the local Domestic Security Division including Yi Dongyi on September 21, 2015.

7. [Jiaxing City, Zhejiang Province] Mr. Tao Yuan Tortured in Prison

Mr. Tao Yuan was arrested on his way to work on the afternoon of April 29, 2014. He was sentenced to four years in prison. He has been held in the Zhejiang No. 2 Prison. He was placed in a strictly controlled cell and tortured. His family has not been allowed to visit him for six months.

His family went to the prison on October 3, 2015. They learned that Mr. Tao's health has deteriorated significantly. He has been hospitalized for treatment.

8. [Ezhou City, Hubei Province] Mr. Li Xihua and Mr. Cao Zhengguo Detained

Mr. Li Xihua was arrested by officers from the Taihe Police Station on May 31, 2015, for distributing Falun Gong informational materials. His home was ransacked. He was held in the Ezhou Detention Center.

Mr. Cao Zhengguo was arrested on June 30, 2015. He is being held in the Ezhou Detention Center.

9. [Tianjin] Mr. Zhang Guojun Arrested

Mr. Zhang Guojun from the Beichen District was arrested on October 6, 2015, and taken to the Jixian Police Station for posting Falun Gong informational materials in the Beichen area.

10. [Anyi County, Jiangxi Province] Mr. Li Yong Arrested for Suing Jiang Zemin

Mr. Li Yong was recently arrested by domestic security officers for suing Jiang Zemin.

11. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yanhua Arrested

Ms. Wang Yanhua was arrested on September 30, 2015, by officers from the Xinchun Police Station in the Nanguan District for mailing a lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. The officers ransacked her home. The detention center refused to admit her because she had symptoms of high blood pressure. She was released that night.

12. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Lianqiu Sentenced to Three Years in Prison

The Nanpiao District Court sentenced Ms. Sun Lianqiu to three years in prison on the afternoon of May 26, 2015. She is being held in the Liaoning Province Women's Prison.

On March 10, 2015, the Longgang District Court sentenced Mr. Sun Shuzhong to seven-and-a-half years and Ms. Han Sujuan to seven years in prison. Mr. Sun was taken to Jinzhou Prison. Ms. Han was taken to the Liaoning Province Women's Prison.

Ms. Hou Chengxiang from the Economic and Technological Development Zone was arrested by shopping plaza security guards when she was telling people about Falun Gong on the morning of October 6, 2015. She was taken to the Changjiang Road Police Station in the Development Zone.
