(Minghui.org) One dark and snowy evening in northern China, Qinqin stared through the window, feeling lost. She was in extreme pain.
She replayed in her mind what the doctor had told her: “You have late stage colon cancer and have only a few months left. You came to see me way too late.”
She recalled sitting in the courtroom with her colleagues. The striking of the gavel announced the beginning of a new trial. Then, she still had energy; now, she did not have the strength to lift her arms.
Over the past few years, several of her colleagues had either died of illnesses or suddenly dropped dead. Indeed, many strange things had happened to people in the police forces and judicial system. Some developed all kinds of strange illnesses, others fell down and never got up again, and still others slipped off the couch and never regained consciousness.
Even the judges seemed pessimistic, because the outcomes of their trials had already been determined at the dinner table beforehand.
Protecting Her Sister
Her sister came to see her and said, “Only Teacher Li Hongzhi, the founder of Falun Dafa, can save you! Please recite 'Falun Dafa is good' and 'Truth-Compassion-Forbearance is good.' That way, Teacher can help you!”
Qinqin works in the legal system, and she knew that Dafa was being persecuted. When her sister had to leave home to avoid arrest, without thinking too much about her own safety, she shielded her sister.
Although she was followed and her phone was tapped, when the police asked where her sister was, she managed to deal with them wisely.
Whenever she had to deal with a case that involved practitioners, she would offer assistance. One lawyer told her that his client owned a printing shop that had produced many copies of Zhuan Falun and would therefore be sentenced.
When she found out that the printer did not charge for the books, she asked the lawyer to prepare a receipt for her. Then she told the judge, “People who practice Dafa are all good people. The owner who printed these books had receipts for them, so it was just a business transaction.” Her strategy worked.
Standing Up for Falun Dafa
A rich man wanted to divorce his wife so he could marry his mistress. He demanded that the court give him his son, because he had the wherewithal to take care of him.
At the trial, the entire family, including the grandparents, the boy's mother, and the boy were desperately sad at their pending separation. Despite that, the father said he would provide his son with a better life in Beijing.
As the judge considered turning the child over to the father, the father realized that the judge favored his suggestion. Before the final verdict was announced, the father piped up and said, “That's right. He should belong to me, not them, because their entire family practices Falun Dafa.”
The judge then announced, “This child will stay with his mother, because he needs his mother more.” The family's tears of grief turned into tears of joy.
Practitioners who dealt with her were all moved by her actions. They held her hands and said, “You have done so much for practitioners.”
Qinqin Earns a Second Life
When Qinqin was half-asleep one evening, she saw the founder of Falun Dafa point at her belly. Her sister held a gavel, hit her belly five times, and said, “Falun Dafa is good.”
After a few days, she recovered, and her tests came back negative. She said that Teacher Li had taken care of her, and she decided to learn Falun Dafa.
Before, she was in favor of Dafa because she saw how her sister changed after she learned it. This time, she herself benefited and came to understand why practitioners hold on to their belief, despite suppression by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).
A Dream Shows Need for Decision
In a dream, she felt seawater rise up to her neck. When she was about to drown, she heard a very loud sound. A large, golden boat picked her up. Then, she saw her sister and other practitioners doing the Dafa exercises on the shore. After she landed, she joined them. She heard the Dafa exercise music and saw the serene, peaceful atmosphere.
This scene motivated her to join a group to study Dafa books together. She thus became a true practitioner.
