(Minghui.org) Changes in ordinary society and the disintegration of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) are determined by gods. Master has told us this clearly before.

Some practitioners have not set their minds on Master's words. They don't believe that clarifying facts about Falun Gong and helping people quit the CCP will disintegrate the CCP. They instead believe that powerful politicians will overthrow the CCP. Some practitioners felt disappointed that the CCP didn't collapse after more than 20 years of Fa rectification and they gave up their cultivation. They seemed to have cultivated for the sake of the CCP, and to have regarded its disintegration as their goal. But they forgot their mission of helping Master save sentient beings. Their misdirected goal has greatly hindered their cultivation and impacted their ability to offer salvation to sentient beings.

By the same token, some practitioners think that Chinese society should improve as they clarify the facts to more people. They give themselves credit for any improvements in the situation. As a matter of fact, this isn't completely true. Even though our truth-clarification efforts have brought positive changes in society, the genuine changes in the situation weren't because of what we have done, but rather what gods have arranged.

A story in Journey to the West illustrates this principle very well. A man called Yuan Shoucheng in Chang'an, the capital city in ancient China, was well known for his marvelous powers of prediction. The Dragon King decided to test him and asked Yuan to predict the weather. Yuan told him it would rain the following day. The Dragon King asked, “What time tomorrow? And how much rainfall?” Yuan replied, “Clouds will form between 7am and 9am. Thunder will strike between 9am and 11am. The rain will pour between 11am and 1pm, and stop between 1pm and 3pm. The total rainfall will be 3.48 inches.”

After the Dragon King returned to his palace, he and his subordinates laughed at Yuan, because only the Dragon King would know when it would rain and how much it would rain. As they were giggling, an order arrived from the Jade Emperor, the ruler of heaven. The Dragon King straightened his robe to receive the order. After he opened the seal and read the order he was surprised to find the order instructed him to make it rain the next day. The timing and rainfall were exactly as Yuan had predicted. The Dragon King took the liberty of changing the timing and the amount of rainfall just to show that he was superior to Yuan. As a result of disobeying the Jade Emperor, the Dragon King was killed.

As cultivators, we know mythological stories have an origin. If every characteristic of rain is determined by gods, how can the timing of the CCP's disintegration be outside their arrangements? It's such an important matter concerning Chinese society and the salvation of sentient beings. Who are we to complain and be disappointed about it? Our only duty is to cultivate ourselves well, and offer salvation to more sentient beings. We aren't cultivating for the CCP or for any change in society. We have to follow Dafa to fulfill our mission.

This is my personal understanding. I hope to share it with my fellow practitioners to make a collective advancement in cultivation.
