(Minghui.org) I was unlawfully taken to the local police station for suing Jiang Zemin. Four hours later I left. I would like to share that experience with fellow practitioners.
I heard someone knocking at the door one afternoon. It turned out to be leader Zhang of the Domestic Security Division of the local police department and three others in plainclothes.
I demanded to see their IDs and said I would write down their personal details for the record. I also refused to let them enter my home, telling them, “This is not your office. You cannot come in.” One of them in plainclothes got impatient and called for more officers to arrest me. I shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!” My neighbors gathered around and witnessed the unlawful conduct of the police as I was taken to the local police station.
At the station, I sat down in a soft chair next to the desk instead of the one designated for criminals, because I was very clear about who I am. Then I sent righteous thoughts with a calm mind. An officer asked me about my personal particulars and my lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. I said, “I have the right to keep silent before seeing my lawyer. I won’t answer any of your questions.” He left.
Under the CCP, those who work in public security, the procuratorate, and the courts are deeply poisoned by the lies and fallacies of the CCP (though there are some exceptions), and it may not be very effective if we simply clarify the facts about Falun Gong to them. Sometimes they may even accumulate more bad karma by rejecting what we say.
Master said,
“The laws humankind has made are in fact mechanically restricting people and sealing them off, including the lawmakers themselves. Humans are continuously sealing themselves off. They seal off and seal off to the point that they’re left with no way out in the end. When too many laws are made, humans are controlled like animals and have no way out; then no one can come up with any solution.” (“Teaching the Fa in San Francisco” in Lectures in the United States)
I had read a lot about legal provisions when we tried to rescue detained fellow practitioners and realized that many such provisions were applicable to those who work in public security, the procuratorates and the courts. I decided to refer to these provisions first, to gain the initiative and dissolve the evil factors behind them, before clarifying the truth.
I said, “According to Article 41 of the Constitution, citizens have the right to make to relevant state organs complaints or charges against, or exposures of, any state organ or functionary for violation of the law or dereliction of duty… and no one may suppress such complaints, charges, and exposures or retaliate against the citizens making them.
“Your supervisors are committing a crime if they order you to violate these provisions. You are also committing a crime by following such illegal orders.” They all went quiet.
I went on to challenge them, “How did you know I'd filed a complaint against Jiang Zemin? Who told you about it? According to the law, details of such complaints are to be sealed. Where did you get that information?”
None of them dared to answer my questions. One of them said my complaint was false. I replied firmly, “Jiang Zemin’s crimes were clearly listed in my complaint, as was the persecution I have suffered over the last 16 years. My statements were supported with evidence. My complaint will be handled in a court of law. You are not qualified to pass judgment.”
While all this was going on, an officer took a photo of me. I demanded that he delete it since I had not given him permission to take it. A few others started to speak to me rudely. I asked for their names, but none of them dared to tell me. Leader Zhang said, “If we tell you our names, you will publish them on the Internet.”
I said, “If you are afraid of being exposed on the Internet, then why don’t you do something good? You dare to do bad things, yet you are afraid to take responsibility for your actions.”
I felt it was time to clarify the truth to them, so I started to talk about the rampant corruption and internal power struggles in the CCP, how Dafa has been embraced around the world, about natural disasters and man-made misfortunes, etc. One group left and another came in to listen. One officer said, “We meant to question him, but now we are listening to him lecture us.”
Zhang and Wang were from the local 610 Office. They started to leave when they saw they could not get anything out of me. They told the police to keep an eye on me, but the police said, “Take him with you--we don’t want to keep him here.”
It was obvious that the police didn’t want to cooperate with the 610 Office anymore, having learned that persecuting Falun Gong would bring them nothing but trouble.
It was almost 5:00 p.m. when Zhang of the Domestic Security Division asked me to think about their situation, seeing as how we had put up Falun Gong messages everywhere.
I spoke out of a sense of justice about the defamation of Falun Gong in the media and the ruthless persecution of practitioners, and told him that our master said, “When being treated unfairly, people should be allowed to speak--this is a human being's most basic right.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Western U.S. Fa Conference”)
They had no reply. In the end, they said they would question two other practitioners who had also filed lawsuits against Jiang. I told them they would only be wasting their time, as no one would cooperate with them. “If that’s case, you can leave,” they said and drove me home.
I got home just in time to send righteous thoughts. Then my mother and other practitioners turned up.
It seems that, after I was taken away, some of them went to the police department to demand my release; some called leader Zhang of the Domestic Security Division personally to ask him to release me; others posted what had happened on the Internet; and still others notified fellow practitioners to send righteous thoughts to eliminate evil factors in other dimensions.
Practitioners in our local area have worked well together over the past year in our efforts to rescue an illegally detained fellow practitioner, and we have learned to use the law effectively.
We have compiled 18 letters of complaint and other legal documents; helped relatives of practitioners to register as defendants; hired several lawyers; and put up countless truth-clarification posters and messages to inform the local people of the truth. In particular, we have learned how to calmly deal with those working in public security, the procuratorate, and the courts by using our legal knowledge.
It hasn't been easy, but what we have done has had an obvious impact – we have effectively deterred the evil factors behind the scenes, and some officers have repositioned themselves after learning the truth.
As trials take place and are reviewed, a great number of officers have become aware of just how bad the 610 Office is and are reluctant to cooperate with its directives.
All this has also encouraged most practitioners in our area to step forward and participate in rescue projects. We cooperate with one another as one body in validating the Fa, eliminating the evil, clarifying the truth, and saving sentient beings.
The fact that I was able to leave the police station within four hours further reflects the power of practitioners working together as one body. I have learned a lot from past rescue projects, and have gone from being inarticulate and having little knowledge of the law, to being able to clearly explain the facts about Dafa to the police using appropriate legal references.
I know in my heart that I cannot do much as an individual without the power of the Fa and the power of practitioners cooperating as one body with righteous thoughts in eliminating the evil.
After I returned home, I shared my experience with practitioners and looked within as a Dafa cultivator, and found some obvious attachments. After studying Master's most recent Fa teaching, I am acutely aware of the seriousness of cultivation. I will continue to improve myself and do better with the three things we are required to do.
