(Minghui.org) Since 2000, Falun Gong practitioners have been detained, pressured to give up their faith, and tortured in Shandong Province Women’s Prison.

Collaborators—former Falun Gong practitioners that went astray due to brainwashing and torture—and criminals are assigned to monitor and torture the practitioners. They deprive them of sleep and inject the with unknown drugs, among many other forms of torture.

The practitioners are forced to watch films and other propaganda that slander Falun Gong. Every day, they are pressured to write statements promising to give up their faith.

The practitioners who don't do as they are told are locked in small, dark cells. Inmates monitor them closely and frequently abuse them. The practitioners are deprived of sleep, not allowed to leave the cell, and not allowed to take showers or wash their clothes. They get little food and no toilet paper.

The practitioners who go on a hunger strike to protest the persecution are brutally force-fed. Unknown drugs that damage the central nervous system are added to their food. As a result, many of these practitioners have experienced memory loss, and some have even developed disabilities or mental disorders or died.

Under orders from the guards, inmates drag practitioners to the restroom where there are no security cameras. There, they force them to stand for long periods of time and don't let them sleep. If the practitioners fall asleep, they are beaten. But sometimes they get so sleepy that they fall over, hitting their heads on the floor.

Ms. Zhang Qiaohuan, who refused to give up Falun Gong, was only allowed to sleep on the concrete floor. As a result, she developed many ailments and had pain all over her body.

Others who refused to renounce Falun Gong were given psychotropic drugs. Their mental states deteriorated, and they stopped making sense. When they were not able to take care of themselves, they were taken to mental hospitals for more drugs, and the persecution there was even worse.

Ms. Yang Meijuan, in her 40s, is from Longkou, Yantai City. She was arrested in 2013, brutally tortured, and force-fed. The inmates made her stand and kept her from sleeping for many nights, and she frequently passed out. She was taken to a hospital and injected with unknown drugs that damaged her nervous system. After she was brought back, she was tortured again before she was sent again to a hospital. She was tortured back and forth like this for over two years.

By 2015 she was tortured to insanity. At that point, it was easy for a collaborator to grab her hand and force her into writing a guarantee statement, saying she would stop practicing Falun Gong.

Ms. Wang Xiuping, 52, is from Tai'an City. She was sentenced to 3.5 years in prison by the Feicheng City Court in July 2009. In prison, she was frozen and starved, jabbed with pens, kicked and beaten, verbally abused, and drenched with cold water.

Ms. Wang was again sentenced in October 2014, this time to three years in prison by the Taishan District Court. She was detained in the No. 8 Ward, where Lin Guolin and Jiang Shuhong (both female collaborators) beat her and did not let her sleep, eat, or use the bathroom. They even had Feng Chunmei (a female inmate) use the bathroom scrub-brush on Ms. Wang's head, face, and mouth. Ms. Wang has also been regularly deprived of food. She is now emaciated and weak.

Ms. Li Li, 43, is a practitioner from Qingdao City. She was taken the prison in the winter of 2012. Because she refuses to give up her faith in Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance, she has been brutally force-fed, injected with toxic drugs, shocked with electric batons, and forced to stand or sit for long durations. However, she remains steadfast in her faith in Falun Dafa.
