(Minghui.org) My husband and I retired from the same company. One day an employee from the retirement office of that company called and asked me to stop by. I was not home, so my husband went instead.
At the retirement office, a dozen people from the retirement office, police department, domestic security, and community office were in attendance. They wanted to know whether I had filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator who launched the persecution of Falun Gong 16 years ago.
This was an excellent opportunity for my husband to get everything off his chest, “My wife did sue Jiang. Everything she put in that complaint was true. As for Jiang Zemin, of course my wife should sue him. Aren't they prosecuting the security czar Zhou Yongkang? Why can't Jiang be sued? You can tell your supervisors that I said this.”
“My wife only distributed a few fliers and went to Beijing to peacefully petition for the right to practice Falun Gong. For that she was arrested and beaten until she was seriously injured. Her thumb-index web was torn and it still hurts after so many years. She was hung up for five days and deprived of sleep. After this torture, she was given five years of forced labor.”
“Besides, when the police came to arrest her, he asked for 20,000 yuan and a drink. This type of behavior is only going to make matters worse.”
My husband continued to tell them, “The authorities called Falun Gong a cult. It isn't up to anyone to judge it like that, and history will prove it. The 610 Office treats practitioners worse than murderers and uses an enormous amount of manpower and money to persecute them. Many practitioners families were broken up because of the persecution. Their children were not allowed to serve in the military, go to college and got into trouble at work. I wasn't allowed to travel abroad for a job offer only because my wife is a practitioner.”
My husband spoke for 40 minutes without being interrupted. They could not believe that what I had written in the complaint was in fact real. My husband left for home without getting into trouble.
I first was worried, but after he told me what went on in that office, I was happy for him. Despite the pressure from a dozen people and police, a non-practitioner was able to tell them the facts about the persecution of Falun Gong.
His hands were painful for many years. After he had visited the retirement office, his hands stopped hurting. I told him that he did a good thing for speaking up and telling people the facts about Falun Gong.
