(Minghui.org) Ms. Wang Ping had been in and out of detention many times since late 2012, and she was sentenced to prison after her latest arrest in May 2014. She has been tortured in a multitude of ways while being held captive.
Determined to Share Ordeal With Public
Ms. Wang said that her persistence in asking for the return of her Falun Dafa books, which had been confiscated when police raided her home in 2012, resulted in her arrest. She asked for her books when she was released from imprisonment, but was denied. Undeterred, she kept going back to the police, who responded with threats and arrests.
Prior to the post-2012 ordeal, Ms. Wang was subjected to forced labor three times between 2005 and 2011 for refusing to give up her belief in Falun Dafa, a spiritual practice being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Ms. Wang, a resident of Wuhe County, Anhui Province, has no regrets. She credits Falun Dafa for returning her to health and helping her become a better employee for the Wuhe Health and Epidemic Prevention Station. She understands there is no legal basis for the regime to persecute the spiritual practice that changed her life and that of her fellow practitioners.
Now released, she is determined to share her latest ordeal with the public.
Repeated Arrests since 2012
A few days before the 18th National People's Congress in 2012, Shen Shijun, director, and several police officers from the Wuhe Domestic Security Division, broke into Ms. Wang's home and ransacked it. They confiscated her computer, printer, cell phone, MP3 player, and Falun Dafa books.
Upon her release, Ms. Wang went to the Domestic Security Division office and Shen's home to ask for the return of her Falun Dafa books and other personal belongings. However Shen beat her each time she showed up at his door. Ms. Wang was subsequently arrested several times.
She was detained by police on May 6, 2014. Within less than three weeks, the Wuhe Court tried her for “picking quarrels and provoking trouble,” and sentenced her to one year in prison. She was taken to the Anhui Provincial Women's Prison on June 13, 2014.
Tortured in Prison for One Year
Ms. Wang recounts being tortured in prison.
1. Monitored and Tortured by Convicted Killers
I was held in Division 4 of the prison. Cao Xuezhi, the guard in charge of the section, assigned Li Fang, a woman who killed her husband and was on reprieve from a death sentence, as leader of three more inmates to monitor me. Li Fang's group consisted of three inmates, of which two had killed people and one had sold counterfeit products.
Li Fang's group ordered me to wear a prison identification on my clothes on my second day in the prison, but I refused to do so. Chen Yuquan punched me in the mouth. The group had me do labor. Chen continued to hit my mouth whenever I spoke.
At work, Chen used a needle to stab my hands. She also pulled me into a warehouse, where she twisted my arms.
2. Guards Ignore Abuse
The guards pretended not to see when inmates physically abused me. When I went to the restroom, Chen followed me and pinched my back. Guard Liu saw it and sneered, “Was it painful? Did you receive retribution for being a good person?”
My entire body became bruised, which I reported to the on-duty guard, Sun Wen. Sun only said, “Who saw it?”
Guard Liu told the inmates, “If she does the Dafa exercises, you are free to do whatever you want to her.”
The group demanded that I write a guarantee statement, promising to no longer practice Falun Dafa, but I refused. They blamed me for making them lose sleep, and Sun Wen blamed me for bringing her trouble. When I accused them of being part of the persecution, Sun replied, “Yes, we forced you. We persecuted you. So what?”
Lead guard Cao frequently took me to her office and rebuked me. I told her that she was persecuting good people. “We persecuted you, so what?” Cao answered, “Do you feel that your prison term is too short? You won't be treated as well as a dog if you die here!”
I went on a hunger strike to protest the physical abuse. Cao ordered the inmates to force-feed me, and she also threatened to shock me with electric batons.
The inmates also tried to brainwash me, which did not work. They then tied me to a bed with stockings and put a slipper in my mouth. My lips became swollen. They also pushed a towel into my mouth.
3. Mistreatment in Brainwashing Center
Since I refused to give up my belief, the guards transferred me to the prison brainwashing center. Staff at the brainwashing center pretended to be nice on the first day. They chatted with me, and when they found out that I liked peanuts, guard Xu gave me some.
Then they showed their true colors. Xu got extremely angry when I told her what Falun Dafa was about and why the persecution was wrong. She pinched my mouth to stop me from talking.
A person reported to her that I shouted “Falun Dafa is good” in the bathroom. Xu became angry and brought a dirty cloth, “Do you dare to shout that again?” she said.
I shouted, “Falun Dafa is good!”
Xu stuffed the dirty cloth into my mouth and said, “If you shout again, I will soak the cloth with toilet water and put it in your mouth!”
Xu also claimed, “The sky belongs to the Chinese Communist Party (CCP). The ground also belongs to the CCP. Even the air that you breathe belongs to the CCP. How can you go against the CCP?”
I was held in the brainwashing center for one-and-a-half months.
When I was released from the prison, I was asked to sign a form, which I refused to do, and just walked out.
