(Minghui.org) I am employed as a consultant in an engineering firm. Before project accounts are settled, construction companies often bribe us with extremely large amounts of money, which they present in a red envelope. Whenever I am offered a bribe, I say, “I practice Falun Dafa and I never accept red envelopes. But I can assure you that everything will be done above standard.”
Construction companies sometimes send presents or cash to my home. But I still do not accept it. They will say, “Who wouldn't want a gift today? If we don't give enough cash or gifts, sometimes things don't work out.”
My response is and will always be, “No matter what others do, I follow the Falun Dafa principles of Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance. If you don't take it back, I will turn it over to my company. The current market is very competitive, and I know it is not easy for you to make a profit, so I think it best that you keep it.”
My response really makes an impression on them. Some have said, “Falun Dafa practitioners are truly good people. We have been involved in many project settlements but have never come across anyone who refused a red envelope. This alone convinces us that Falun Dafa is good.”
Over the past decade, most of the individuals I have settled projects with have quit the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and its affiliated organizations. Most of them have a good understanding of Falun Dafa and the facts of the persecution. They have made the right choice for their future.
