(Minghui.org) Ms. Li, a Falun Gong practitioner, was working in the workshop of the Harbin Women's Prison No. 7 Ward when Kou Lili, a guard, began searching practitioners for Falun Gong materials, albeit finding nothing. Kou even ripped apart seat cushions in her efforts.
Kou saw a cotton-padded jacket nearby and asked who it belonged to. When Ms. Li picked up the jacket, Kou yelled, cursed, and hit Ms. Li. She then whipped Ms. Li with the jacket. Tong Jinyan and a dozen other inmates also kicked and beat Ms. Li at the same time.
Kou threw a large blanket over Ms. Li's head and took her to a prison office, where she screamed at her and slapped her the face in front of two guards and an inmate. The inmate was Ms. Li's group leader, who did not say anything.
The following day, the guards kept Ms. Li in her cell and forced her to sit on a small stool for long hours—a form of torture commonly used in Chinese prisons.
