Additional Persecution News from China – May 19, 2015 (24 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 19 cities or counties in 14 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 28 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Beijing] Ms. Lu Shangchun's Sentence Upheld

Ms. Lu Shangchun was sentenced to a three and a half year prison term by the Changping District Court on February 13, 2015. She appealed to the Beijing No.1 Intermediate Court. The Court upheld the original sentence without a trial on April 24, 2015.

2. [Zunyi City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Shen Wanhui's Sentence Upheld

Ms. Shen Wanhui, 40, was arrested by officers from the Guiyang Police Department on May 29, 2014. After being sentenced to a two-year prison term by the Jinsha County Court on August 27, 2014, she appealed to the Bijie City Intermediate Court. The Court upheld the original sentence in May 2015. She is still in the Jinsha County Detention Center.

3. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Mr. Wang Zhixue's Sentence Upheld

Mr. Wang Zhixue, 39, was arrested by officers from the Guiyang City Railway Station on November 20, 2013. He was sentenced to a nine-year prison term by the Yunyan District Court on February 2, 2015. He appealed and the Guiyang City Intermediate Court upheld the original sentence after two trials. Mr. Wang is still in the Baihuashan Detention Center in Guiyang City.

Mr. Jing Baozhong was arrested at home on May 12, 2015.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Huang Liping Detained

Ms. Huang Liping, 52, was arrested by plainclothes officers from the Beitaipingzhuang Police Station on May 7, 2015. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a printer, computer, informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong, and paper currency with information about Falun Gong printed on it. She is detained at the Haidian Detention Center.

Ms. Qu Guiqin was arrested on the morning of May 17, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong at the Fusong County Public Transportation Station. She was taken to the Baishan City Detention Center.

7. [Huanren County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Deqing Arrested

Mr. Wang Deqing was arrested again in Qinghai Province by Huanren County police officers on May 11, 2015.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Jia Shuchun's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Jia Shuchun was arrested on May 13, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

9. [Qingyang City, Gansu Province] Ms. Xu Huixian Arrested

Ms. Xu Huixian was arrested at home in late March. The police ransacked her home.

10. [Huantai County, Shandong Province] Ms. Xu Jinxia Detained

Ms. Xu Jinxia was arrested at home on May 10, 2015. The police ransacked her home and confiscated a computer and informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. She is currently detained at the Zhangdian Detention Center.

11. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Li Guosheng, Mr. Sui Jinming, Mr. Li Youzhi, Mr. Wang Jian, and Ms. Sheng Jinling were arrested by officers from the Gushanzi Town Police Station on the evening of May 13, 2015, for posting informational stickers about the persecution of Falun Gong. Four of them are detained at the Xinglong County Detention Center.

12. [Luoyang City, Henan Province] Five Practitioners Detained

Mr. Xie Jian, Ms. Shi Yaqiong, Ms. Wu Gaimei, Ms. Sun Xuezhen, and Ms. Liu Lianqin were arrested by officers from the Changdai Town Police Station on May 8, 2015. They are detained at the Luoyang Detention Center.

Ms. Xu Minghua and her husband, Ms. Lu Peifen, and Ms. Wang Xingda were arrested by officers from the 610 Office on May 11, 2015. The police ransacked their homes. Their current whereabouts are unknown.

Ms. Liu Shixian was arrested on May 15, 2015.

Ms. Liu Sulan was arrested by officers from the Lanshan Police Station on the morning of May 12, 2015, for posting informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home. She is detained at the Nangou Detention Center.

17. [Fukang City, Xinjiang Province] Ms. Yu Fengling Arrested

Ms. Yu Fengling, 65, was arrested and taken to the Fukang Detention Center on April 26, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Li Guiyue was arrested by officers from the Dongfeng Police Department and Jiadong Police Station on May 16, 2015, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police ransacked her home and confiscated approximately 100 cell phone cards, a computer, a printer, a cell phone, and Falun Gong books.

Ms. Zhao Songlan was arrested by officers from the Donghu Police Station on April 23, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police confiscated her computer, printer, and informational materials about Falun Gong. She is detained at the Chaoyang Detention Center.

24. [Xishui City, Hubei Province] Mr. Meng Haitao and Ms. Bao Gu Leave Home to Avoid Persecution Home

Mr. Meng Haitao and his wife Ms. Bao Gu were chased by three plainclothes officers on the afternoon of May 13, 2015, for posting informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. They left home to avoid further persecution.
