(Minghui.org) A family of three recently mailed a criminal complaint to the Supreme People's Procuratorate in Beijing pressing charges against Jiang Zemin. The three Falun Gong practitioners demand that the Supreme Procuratorate prosecute the former leader of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and hold him responsible for their physical, mental and financial losses suffered in the persecution.
During the sixteen-year persecution of Falun Gong, authorities ransacked the home of Mr. Huang Zhisong and his wife Ms. Chen Lingxia three times without a warrant.
Mr. Huang was criminally detained five times, put in a brainwashing center and tortured three times, imprisoned once for four years and fired from his job under orders from the authorities.
Ms. Chen was kidnapped once and tortured in a brainwashing camp. Her employers were instructed to fire her from work.
Ms. Chen's father died in the persecution, leaving her mother Ms. Li Xiuyun behind in constant grief and fear.
Mr. Huang became a practitioner in 1997 while he was deputy director at a subsidiary company of Anqing Petrochemical. His health and work ethic improved as he followed the principles of the practice, and he was able to turn the failing company into a profitable one. He was given the “best employee” award that same year.
Seeing these changes in Mr. Huang, Ms. Chen and her parents became practitioners as well. Almost immediately, Ms. Chen's chronic sinusitis and herniated lumbar disc disappeared without a trace. Her mother was also freed of her coronary heart disease through the practice, while her father recovered from stomach ulcers and rheumatoid arthritis.
Ms. Chen's parents stopped practicing Falun Gong in 1999 due to the persecution. Her father's health deteriorated shortly afterwards, and he died in 2002.
Mr. Huang was arrested when he went to Beijing to protest the persecution at the end of 1999. He was beaten and detained for a month. When he returned, his company demoted him from deputy director to technician.
In March 2001 Mr. Huang was tortured in a brainwashing center for a week. In November, the police arrested and indicted him after his release. When he left town with his parents, the authorities thought they were going to protest in Beijing and had the local police arrest them.
Mr. Huang's parents were detained, while he was released. The police issued an arrest warrant for him and he was forced to become homeless for a year.
The police found and arrested Mr. Huang again in January 2003. He was hospitalized after he went on a hunger strike to protest the illegal arrest. He escaped from the hospital and was arrested again in March. He was then sentenced to four years in prison and fired from his job.
Around the same time Mr. Huang was hospitalized, his wife was taken to a brainwashing center and tortured for a month.
Mr. Huang was put in the Suzhou Prison in October 2003. No visits and letters were allowed him. Since he refused to renounce Falun Gong, the guards and prisoners took turns beating him and shocking him with electric batons. The beatings continued over the course of weeks.
The guards also deprived him of sleep. When he dozed off, the prisoners would handcuff his hands behind his back, hang him up by the handcuffs from a metal gate, and beat him.

In 2008 Mr. Huang and Ms. Chen were arrested together. Ms. Chen was released the same day, while Mr. Huang was detained. The police ransacked their house, taking away their valuables in addition to possible evidence. Mr. Huang was placed under forced labor reform for a year, then transferred to a brainwashing center for an additional two months.
In 2010, agents from the 610 Office put Mr. Huang in a brainwashing center for almost a month.
Ms. Chen's employer tried to force her to renounce Falun Gong, but she refused. She was fired in 2012.
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
