(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioners "have been imprisoned and tortured and suffered death, even organ harvesting, a heinous crime. It is the most outrageous of human rights abuses that we can find anywhere in the world," said Ontario Member of Provincial Parliament Jack MacLaren at a rally in front of the Chinese embassy in Ottawa on July 15.
The rally marked the 16th years of persecution of Falun Gong by China's communist regime amid a growing wave of criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the dictator who ordered the brutal campaign on July 20, 1999.

“A Bright Light at the End of the Tunnel”
“We now have a situation where there is finally some change. 60,000 people have filed official complaints, saying there has been criminal activity by Zhang Zemin in China against the Falun Gong. And these have been officially received by the Chinese government and there have not been persecutions against people filing these complaints, where in the past these people would often face prison, torture and the possibility of death,” said Mr. MacLaren.
He continued. “It looks like a bright light at the end of the tunnel. And we do have a bit of a light at the end of the tunnel, or something positive happening now in China, in recent weeks and months. 60,000 people in China have felt confident enough and safe enough to file official complaints of criminal abuse by Jiang Zemin, the perpetrator of the beginning of these abuses back in 1999. And they want him brought to justice in answer for his crimes that he has inflicted upon the people of the Falun Gong. This is very encouraging because these 60,000 people have not been imprisoned and suffered abuse, torture, and even death as has been practice in the past.
“That is a positive change and there is no reason not to be optimistic that perhaps things are changing in China, that the change will involve a different attitude at the top of government and that hopefully will infiltrate or filter down to the lower levels where the persecution is happening.
Mr. MacLaren praised the endeavors Falun Gong practitioners have done to end the persecution, “I am proud to be here with the Falun Gong, as always and will again. You can count on me, I am with you.”
David Kilgour: “Jiang should be the first indicted before the International Criminal Court”
Former Member of Parliament and Secretary of State for Asia-Pacific David Kilgour spoke at the rally as well. “July 20 will mark the launch in 1999 of former Chinese president Jiang Zemin’s vicious suppression of Falun Gong across China.
“Since then, Beijing’s party-state has committed systematic murder against practitioners of this peaceful exercise and meditation movement. The covert large scale seizure of practitioners’ organs for commercial transplantation purposes is a major feature of this persecution-- about which the people of China and the world still know too little, largely because of China’s Stalinist governance/crony capitalism practices.”
Mr. Kilgour was happy that more than 60,000 Chinese people had filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, citing a report from the Falun Dafa Information Center. “As the instigator of the persecution, Jiang should be the first in Beijing indicted before the International Criminal Court.” Added Mr. Kilgour.
Shawn Li, representing the Falun Dafa Association of Canada, noted that the filing of criminal complaints against a living communist dictator in China is unprecedented.
“This tremendous wave of legal action reflects both the will of Heaven and the collective will of the people,” he said.
“This is a critical step toward prosecuting Jiang Zemin. In the process, as more people awaken to what is right and wrong, the legal action will help to restore conscience, morality, and the rule of law, bringing a bright future to China and the world.”
