Additional Persecution News from China – July 24, 2015 (Part II, 23 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 20 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 21 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 16 were illegally arrested. Several practitioners seeking to mail letters of complaint regarding Jiang Zemin to the Supreme People's Procuratorate and the Supreme Court have met with obstacles.

1. [Shulan City, Jilin Province] Ms. Guo Qingfen and Ms. Zhang Lan Detained

Ms. Guo Qingfen and Ms. Zhang Lan were arrested on July 18, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. They are detained at the Nanshan Detention Center. The police demanded their families pay a 900-yuan meal fee.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Chen Mingjing Arrested

Ms. Chen Mingjing was arrested by officers from the Xinhua Police Station on July 22, 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. She was taken to the Dalian Detention Center.

3. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Yufen Arrested

Ms. Zhao Yufen was arrested on July 23, 2015, and taken to the Douzhangzhuang Police Station.

4. [Changting County, Fujian Province] Two Practitioners Detained

Mr. Zhang Guilin, 22, was arrested by eight officers from Changting County on July 18, 2015. The police later ransacked his home and confiscated printers, computers, and Falun Gong books. His mother Ms. Huang Muxiu was also arrested. They are now in the county detention center.

5. [Zhucheng City, Shandong Province] Four Practitioners Persecuted

Mr. Lin Shuhua was arrested on July 15, 2015, for filing criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the CCP dictator. He is still being detained.

That day, police demanded that Mr. Li Yuewu and his wife Ms. Sun Yueying go to the Chengguan Police Station to make a report. They were released later that day. Another practitioner Ms. Zhong Lihua was detained for a day.

6. [Tongling City, Anhui Province] Homes of Three Practitioners Ransacked

Police officers ransacked the homes of Mr. Wang Bing, Mr. Bao Haijun, and Mr. Bao Haiming on July 22, 2015.

7. [Pingdu City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhou Yuxiang Arrested

Ms. Zhou Yuxiang was arrested and taken to the Dazeshan Police Station on July 23, 2015, for talking to people and posting informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

8. [Chongqing] Ms. Quan Qiming Harassed

Ms. Quan Qiming was harassed several times by officers from the Huaxi Town Police Station for filing criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the CCP.

9. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia] Mr. Qu Yazhong Arrested

Mr. Qu Yazhong, in his fifties, was arrested on July 21, 2015. The next day, several officers handcuffed him and took him back to his home. They ransacked it and confiscated recorders, printers, Falun Gong books, and other personal belongings.

10. [Tianjin] Mr. Zhong Wanli Arrested

Mr. Zhong Wanli was arrested on July 22, 2015.

11. [Nongan County, Jilin Province] Ms. Zhang Guozhen Detained

Ms. Zhang Guozhen, sentenced to a 10-year term in 2012, is incarcerated in the Jilin Province Women's Prison. When her family went to visit her on July 19, 2015, the guards said that Ms. Zhang and other practitioners had been taken to a brainwashing center on July 15.

12. [Beijing] Mr. Xu Huaquan Persecuted

Mr. Xu Huaquan is incarcerated in Qianjin Prison in Beijing. The guards ordered three criminal inmates to closely monitor him. They often put a board on the floor and make Mr. Xu sit upright on it without moving for long periods of time. Two of Mr. Xu’s front teeth were knocked out when Gu, one of the criminal inmates, beat him. He is sometimes deprived of sleep. Mr. Xu's health is deteriorating and his hair has now turned white.

13. [Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Ran Junqin, 67, from Kaili City was arrested at home on July 18, 2015, for destroying CCP propaganda that slandered Falun Gong. Ms. Chen Deyu from Hezhang County was also arrested that day.

Mr. Zhang Wenli from Liupanshui City was arrested on July 4, 2015. He was held in a detention center and then transferred to the Liupanshui City No. 2 Detention Center.

14. [Fengtai County, Anhui Province] Mr. Xu Guanglin Detained

Mr. Xu Guanglin was arrested on July 23, 2015, for filing criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, former CCP leader. He might be detained in a police station in Fengtai County.

15. [Changchun City, Jilin Province] Ms. Wang Yuhua and Another Practitioner Detained

Ms. Wang Yuhua and another practitioner were arrested by officers from the Xingfu Police Station, in the Nanguan District, on June 21, 2015, for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong. The police confiscated their bags, informational materials, approximately 3,780 yuan in cash, CD players, cell phones, phone cards, memory cards, and other personal belongings. Both were taken to the Weizigou Detention Center for a 15-day term.

16. [Tianjin] Mr. Han Tieqiang Arrested

Mr. Han Tieqiang was arrested on July 22, 2015, for filing criminal complaints against former dictator Jiang Zemin with the Supreme People's Procuratorate. The police ransacked his home.

17. [Qingyuan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Li Gengmei Detained

Ms. Li Gengmei was arrested at her store on June 24, 2015, by a dozen officers, none of whom identified themselves, from the Zhouxinjie Police Station, Residential Office, and 610 Office in Qingyuan City. They ransacked her home and confiscated Falun Gong books. Ms. Li is now in the Sanshui Forced Labor Camp.

18. [Lu County, Sichuan Province] Ms. Yi Qunren Arrested

Ms. Yi Qunren was arrested and taken to a prison.

19. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhao Ronggui Taken to Prison

Ms. Zhao Ronggui, arrested on April 22, 2014, was tried in the Jiangyang District Court on October 31, 2014. She was sentenced to a four-year prison term in December. Ms. Zhao was taken to a prison in mid-July 2015.

20. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Shishu's Family Harassed

Three officers, including Li Ke from the Texing Town Police Station, went to Ms. Zhang Shishu's home on July 15, 2015. They interrogated her relatives from Hubei Province and asked for the phone numbers of Ms. Zhang's sister and daughter. They also ordered her daughter to prevent Ms. Zhang from practicing Falun Gong.

21. [Li County, Hebei Province] Ms. Guo Daying Arrested

Ms. Guo Daying was arrested on July 22, 2015.

22. [Diaobingshan City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Liu Xiaohui Arrested

Mr. Liu Xiaohui, 63, retired from the Coal and Iron Group, was arrested at home by five or six plainclothes officers including captain Zhang Fenglai from the Diaobingshan City Domestic Security Division on July 22, 2015. The police ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books; ten volumes of Zhuan Falun, the main book of Falun Gong; a computer; three printers; 2,000 yuan in paper bills with messages about Falun Gong printed on them; and computer supplies.

23. [Yueyang City, Hunan Province] Five Practitioners Harassed

Li Xudong, director of the Qianlianghu Town Judicial Department, and a dozen officers broke into and ransacked the following five practitioners’ homes on July 21, 2015: Ms. Ji Jinlian, Ms. Peng Quanxiang, Ms. Dai Zuolan, Mr. Li Nianchun, and Mr. Wang Hongbo. They confiscated calendars, Falun Gong books, lectures by the founder of Falun Gong, and pictures of the founder.

A dozen officers later ransacked Ms. Peng’s store and confiscated a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, an informational calendar, two MP3 players, 20 Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs, and 30 informational brochures about the persecution of Falun Gong.
