(Minghui.org) The 610 Office of Longkou City issued a memorandum to each local Party committee on August 5, 2015. The notice defamed the legal lawsuits against Jiang Zemin, former head of the Chinese regime who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong.
The office also sent, to officials in each work unit and village, a list of Falun Gong practitioners who have sued Jiang. The 610 Office agents ordered the officials to investigate the practitioners and report back with their personal information before August 13.
The 610 Office is notorious for its persecution of Falun Gong practitioners. The 610 Office agents said that they will take revenge against plaintiffs who sue Jiang Zemin.
Some practitioners were subsequently harassed by their employers or taken to police stations after their lawsuits were accepted by the Supreme Procuratorate and the Supreme Court. Some family members were also harassed and intensely pressured.
The lawsuits against Jiang Zemin are based on the new lawsuit filing registration system established by the Chinese Supreme Court. The system requires that all lawsuits be registered and all complaints be addressed. Each lawsuit filed by Falun Gong practitioners testifies to the persecution they suffered. The suits also detail how Jiang Zemin has violated China's laws.
Hundreds of Suits Filed in Longkou
At least 600 people from Longkou have sued Jiang Zemin, including Falun Gong practitioners, their family members, and other courageous citizens. Of the 600 lawsuits, about 400 have been accepted so far, and the other cases filed are being held at a processing center in Beijing.
Suing Jiang Zemin is a good deed that will help end the persecution and bring the perpetrators to justice. However, the 610 Office agents in Longkou City still persecute Falun Gong practitioners.
