(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Ms. Fu Jinfeng was illegally tried on August 6 for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong on a bus. She pleaded not guilty.
Ms. Fu, 53, an employee of the Nanchang City Blood Station, was arrested at home on March 24, 2015. Officers from the Nanchang Economical Development District Domestic Security Division and the Jiaoqiao Police Station arrested her and ransacked her home.
The prosecutor's evidence were the confiscated Falun Gong books and informational materials. In addition, he claimed that two passengers reported to the authorities that Ms. Fu talked about Falun Gong on a bus.
Ms. Fu pointed out that practicing Falun Gong is legal according to the Chinese Constitution and existing Chinese law, hence possession of Falun Gong books and discussing Falun Gong in public does not violate the law.
Explaining to the court how beneficial the practice has been to her health and well-being, she implored the officials not to follow the Chinese communist regime's ruthless and illegal persecution.
After little over an hour, judge Chen Nanping adjourned the trial and said that he would announce the sentence at a later date.
About 100 Falun Gong practitioners stood outside the court to support her. The police took photos and video recordings of the practitioners, and verbally threatened them.
All people who entered the court were video-recorded. In addition, the court did not allow any Falun Gong practitioners to enter the court and had arranged for over 40 government officials from the district to fill the court room.
The area outside the court was filled with officials, local 610 Office personnel, plainclothes police officers from the domestic security division, officers from the local police station, court bailiffs, and a vehicle full of special police wearing black uniforms.
Ms. Fu had been detained seven times during the past 16 years, and was imprisoned for a total of five years.
