(Minghui.org) On my way to City Hall one day, I met a retired gentleman going the same way. We decided to make some friendly conversation.
“What did you do before retiring?” I asked.
“I worked at the police department,” he replied.
“By the looks of it, you were probably a higher-up, eh?”
He flashed a good-natured smile.
“In fact, I was the director.”
“Then you must have arrested many Falun Gong practitioners, right?”
He turned and looked at me closely, before responding in the affirmative.
“What do you think of these Falun Gong practitioners?”
“Some are really good people,” he answered, with no hesitation.
“I'm just curious,” I continued, “but what is your impression of Falun Gong?”
“Well, there used to be many Falun Gong practitioners everywhere. They exercised in the morning and were really peaceful people who minded their own business. Then, some bad people ruined Falun Gong's reputation. They organized and went to Zhongnanhai and got political.”
Upon hearing that, I started telling him about how the police in Tianjin illegally arrested Falun Gong practitioners, which triggered the peaceful protest outside the Zhongnanhai compound a few weeks later. I told him about the “Tiananmen Square self-immolation” hoax, and how former Chinese president Jiang Zemin overrode the other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
I also informed him of how Falun Gong has no organizational structure, and how people are free to come and leave at anytime. He listened attentively and nodded.
“What do you do for a living?” he asked.
“I am also retired. I was a teacher before.”
“That explains it. You're very knowledgeable.”
At that moment, I realized that we had reached our destination.
I told him, “Chinese people around the world are withdrawing from the Communist Party and its youth organizations. You must have heard. How about I help you withdraw using the pseudonym 'Awakening'?”
“Sure, thank you!”
