Additional Persecution News from China – August 16, 2015 (24 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 17 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 8 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 22 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Chao Detained

Officers from the Muping Police Department and Wanggezhuang Town Police Station broke into Mr. Wang Chao's home in Zhangjiahe Village and ransacked it at noon on August 10, 2015. They confiscated Falun Dafa books, a photo of the Falun Gong founder, a printer, and a computer. Mr. Wang was arrested and held in the Muping District Detention Center for 15 days.

2. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Mr. Cao Zhaohui and Wife Ms. Chen Lingmei Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Cao Zhaohui and his wife Ms. Chen Lingmei were arrested by officers from the Guan Police Station when they were telling people about Falun Gong in Gu'an County in July 2014.

The Gu'an County Court sentenced the couple to three years in prison each. Ms. Chen has been taken to the Shijiazhuang Women's Prison, and Mr. Cao to the Shenzhou City Prison.

3. [Jiexi County, Guangdong Province] Mr. Liu Shaopeng Held in Prison

The Jiexi County Court sentenced Mr. Liu Shaopeng to four years in prison on August 5, 2015. Mr. Liu was taken to the Sihui Prison on August 13.

4. [Tianjin] Mr. Chao Yuefeng Detained

Mr. Chao Yuefeng was arrested on August 13, 2015 after he mailed his lawsuit against Jiang Zemin. He was charged with “disturbing social order” on August 15, and detained for 15 days.

5. [Beijing] Ms. Zhao Zhanfang Remains Detained

Ms. Zhao Zhanfang was arrested in the Xicheng District in 2014. She has been held in the Xicheng District Detention Center.

6. [Cangzhou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Zhao Yuping Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Zhao Yuping was taken to a brainwashing center on August 11, 2015.

7. [Yantai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Li Deshun and Ms. Gao Shulan Arrested

Officers from the Yantai City Police Department, the Domestic Security Division, and the Lijiaoqiao Police Station broke into Mr. Li Deshun and Ms. Gao Shulan's homes and arrested them on August 10, 2015. Both practitioners' homes were ransacked. They were both released that day after failing the physical examination.

8. [Beijing] Ms. Jiang Shufen Detained

Officers from the Chengguan Town Police Station in the Fangshan District broke into Ms. Jiang Shufen's home in Dongguadi Village and arrested her on August 7, 2015. Ms. Jiang is being held in the Fangshan District Detention Center.

9. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Lei Meirong and Ms. Li Juxiu Arrested

Ms. Lei Meirong and Ms. Li Juxiu, from the Qingshanhu District, were arrested by officers from the Bayi Township Police Station when they were distributing Falun Gong informational materials in the Bayi Township government complex, Nanchang County on August 9, 2015. Ms. Li was released after failing the physical examination. Ms. Lei was taken to the Nanchang County Detention Center for 15 days of detention.

10. [Beijing] Ms. Zheng Xianyun Arrested

Ms. Zheng Xianyun from the Tiantanghe area, Daxing District was arrested at home on August 14, 2015. She is being held in the Daxing Domestic Security Division.

11. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Xiao Heyun Held in Dalian Prison

Ms. Xiao Heyun was arrested by officers from the Yingdongxincheng Police Station in the Laobin District on June 15, 2014. She was held in the Yingkou City Detention Center. She was sentenced to three years in prison in 2015. She is being held in the Dalian Prison.

12. [Gaobeidian City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Wen Xiyan and Ms. Zhang Xiuhua were arrested at home on August 13, 2015. Both practitioners were taken to a detention center. At the same time the police also arrested Mr. Xiao Peirong from Fangguan Town.

13. [Luobei County, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Yao Shuhua and Mr. Yu Dianshan Arrested

Ms. Yao Shuhua and Mr. Yu Dianshan, from the No. 7 Team, Junchuan Farm, were arrested when posting Falun Gong informational materials on August 13, 2015 by officers from the Junchuan Farm Police Department and Guo Guangling, a member of the 610 Office which is affiliated with that police department. Both practitioners were taken to the Baoquanling Agricultural Bureau Detention Center. Mr. Yu was released on August 14, after failing the physical examination.

14. [Beijing] Mr. Ma Guoxin Arrested

Mr. Ma Guoxin was arrested on August 13, 2015. His home was ransacked.

15. [Tanghe County, Henan Province] Mr. Zhou Mingyun Detained

Officers from the Shangtun Town Police Station arrested Mr. Zhou Mingyun on August 12, 2015. He is being held in the Tanghe County Detention Center.

16. [Beijing] Mr. Ke Xingguo Arrested

Officers from the Wanshoulu Police Station, Haidian District arrested Mr. Ke Xingguo on July 20, 2015. They also ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Dafa books, a computer, and paper bills with facts about Falun Gong printed on them.

17. [Siping City, Jilin Province] Mr. Zhang Xiaoming Detained

Mr. Zhang Xiaoming is being held in the Siping Detention Center.

18. [Huaian City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Li Sen Arrested

Ms. Li Sen, a retired teacher from the No. 6 Middle School, was arrested by officers from the Zhabei Police Station, Qinghe District when she was telling people about Falun Gong in the Yunhe Square on July 14, 2015. She was released that day.

On July 27, Ms. Li was arrested again when she was telling people about Falun Gong in the Beijingxincun area. She was taken to a detention center. She was denied admission by the detention center after failing the physical examination. She has returned home.

19. [Chongqing] Mr. Yang Li Taken to Brainwashing Center

Mr. Yang Li from the Xinpaifang Community is being held in the Qianzhugou Brainwashing Center in the Geleshan area.

20. [Beijing] Ms. Wang Xiuqin Arrested

Ms. Wang Xiuqin was arrested at home on August 14, 2015 by officers from the Doudian Town Police Station, Fangshang District for suing Jiang Zemin.

21. [Chongqing] Mr. Pi Kairong Arrested

Mr. Pi Kairong from the Banan District was arrested by officers from the Yubei Police Department on August 14, 2015. His whereabouts are unknown.

22. [Xianning City, Hubei Province] Mr. Xu Changhong Paralyzed

Mr. Xu Changhong, who works at the Center Hospital, was arrested at work on July 22, 2015. He was taken to the Hubei Province Legal Education Center (a brainwashing center). After he was severely abused there, he is unable to move.

23. [Mengyin County, Shandong Province] Mr. Zhang Guangming Arrested

Mr. Zhang Guangming was arrested on the morning of August 13, 2015 by Feng Chuanliang, secretary of Xixiya Village, and officers from the Police Department and Police Station. His home was ransacked.

24. [Jincheng City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Niu Wenlin Arrested

Mr. Niu Wenlin was arrested by officers from the Zhongjiazhuang Police Patrol when he was distributing Falun Gong informational materials in the Foxconn Factory on August 13, 2015. The officers ransacked his home. Mr. Niu is being held in the Zhongjiazhuang Police Station.
