(Minghui.org) I was fortunate to have been introduced to Falun Dafa in March of 1997. Since that time, I have been a diligent disciple who not only cultivates mind and body, but who also tells others the facts about Falun Dafa.
During my years of cultivation and truth-clarification work, I have progressed on my journey and had many amazing experiences along the way.
An Official Receives Karmic Retribution
Zhao (alias), 56, was the director of a compound for retired high-ranking officials. He was active in suppressing the efforts of Falun Dafa practitioners. One day he directed a group of people to remove the words “Falun Dafa Is Good” from a wall and to cover the area with fresh paint the next morning.
When he was playing golf that afternoon, he fainted and fell down. Staff and friends attempted to help him, but he was dead.
A large banner that read, “Reciting 'Falun Dafa is good' can save your life,” was posted on a light pole on the street near Zhao's funeral. Everyone, including officials from the city government, the Party committee at different levels, and the military attending the funeral, saw the banner, but no one made a move to take it down.
They likely heard the stories about how persecutors of Falun Dafa practitioners had experienced misfortune after their misdeeds.
Retired Military Officials Change
Many residents in the compound for retired military officials were poisoned by the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) propaganda. They gave false statements about Falun Dafa on television, and they criticized former practitioners during various public meetings. They did not read the truth-clarifying brochures I gave them and ignored me when I greeted them in public. Some of them stared at me as if I were a spy.
In those moments, I remembered Master Li's words:
“The wind and clouds suddenly change, and the heavens seem to crumbleThe mountains shake, the seas churn, and the ferocious waves billow.”(“The Knowing Heart” in Essentials for Further Advancement II)
Instead of being scared or discouraged, I maintained a good attitude and held fast to my belief. I seized every opportunity to let these people know that Dafa is peaceful and compassionate. I told them how my late-stage cancer was cured after beginning to practice Falun Dafa, and that the persecution is illegal and against humanity. Slowly, most of them changed their attitudes toward Dafa and myself.
A retired official's wife is a Falun Dafa practitioner. He wanted to show others, particularly current officials, how much he disapproved of Dafa. He often removed Dafa posters or banners that he came upon and destroyed them in public. This particular official became seriously ill suddenly and was taken to the emergency room.
His doctor discovered that he had an unusual type of prostatitis that required an operation without anesthesia. Without immediate surgery, his life would be in danger, so he underwent a very painful 16-hour operation. After that, he stopped preventing his wife from practicing Dafa. Eventually, he even withdrew from the CCP.
All the residents in the compound are now aware of the power of Dafa. Many came to my home requesting my help to quit the CCP and its organizations. Wanting to learn more about the truth of Falun Dafa, the compound residents often invited me to their homes to talk to them.
The Party Secretary's Family
The parents-in-law of a village Party secretary lived in the compound. One day, the mother-in-law saw a banner on the wall of their house that read, “Falun Dafa Is Good.” She removed the banner and tore it up.
Still holding the torn paper in one hand, she fell down. “Help!” she shouted. “Someone is grabbing my heart! Black hands are grabbing my heart!” Her husband heard her shouts and tried to help her up. He then called their adult children to come home and take their mother to the hospital.
The woman was give several injections, which made her feel even worse. The doctor could not find anything wrong with her, so she was sent home. Then her husband noticed that the banner on the wall had vanished and realized it must have been his wife who was responsible for removing it. He brought it up with his wife with the family present.
“What wrongdoing have you committed here? Speak up quickly!” he said. “Apologize to Dafa quickly, or you will lose your life!” Her husband then went down on his knees in front of their children and apologized for his wife's disrespectful behavior.
At first the woman still refused to apologize and said she was illiterate. She then appeared as if she would faint again. In the end, she did apologize and then fully recovered.
This woman's son-in-law is the director of a school. He was shocked by what he witnessed. “Unbelievable, unbelievable. No wonder Falun Gong is unbeatable.”
Another son-in-law, the village Party secretary, started feeling ashamed of the acts of persecution he had carried out and decided never to do them again. From then on, he often passed on information to me and other Dafa practitioners concerning upcoming possibilities of persecution.
Due to their now positive attitudes toward Dafa, their families have experienced positive changes. For example, their family business that had been bankrupt for several years was rejuvenated and started to make a profit. The grandchildren were admitted to universities and found ideal jobs after graduation. This is but one example of how good is rewarded with good and bad incurs bad.
My Own Story
I travelled to Beijing with my family in 2010. Of course I was carrying many truth-clarification materials with me in my backpack. I also had some pamphlets in my pockets for easy access and distribution for when we visited known tourist sites such as Tiananmen Square and the Xidan commercial district.
As we were approaching Tiananmen Square, we saw that tourists had to go through a white tent before entering the square. As I stood in line, I saw that my family members ahead of me were asked to empty their pockets and take off their jackets to be checked.
I realized the security guards must be searching for Dafa disciples who were carrying Dafa materials. What should I do? I carried exactly what they were looking for!
All of a sudden, I recalled what Master had taught:
“Under trying circumstances of any type, you must all keep steady in thought. Just by staying unaffected you will be able to handle all situations.” ("Teaching the Fa at the Conference in the Midwest-U.S.")
“The old forces don't dare to oppose our clarifying the truth or saving sentient beings. What's key is to not let them take advantage of the gaps in your state of mind when you do things.” (“Teaching the Fa at the 2002 Fa Conference in Boston”)
I felt that Master was beside me, watching out for me. I sent forth righteous thoughts to clear out any evil interference, and I found myself fearless at that moment. When the guard started to check the women in front of me, I simply walked by them. I seemed invisible to the 20 to 30 guards in and around the tent. With a full backpack of Dafa materials, I walked into Tiananmen Square.
When my daughter-in-law saw me, she could not hold back her surprise. “How did you get through the tent without being examined? It's impossible! Unbelievable!”
“My pockets are full of materials, as is my big bag,” I said. “But I am a Dafa disciple, not an ordinary person. How can they touch me? Master wouldn't allow that.” This experience turned my daughter-in-law into a strong believer of Dafa.
I have had so many experiences like this—more than I can write down! As such, I cannot express my gratitude to Master in words.
“Cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one’s master.” (Zhuan Falun, Lecture One)
Master is responsible for all miracles. Thus, I hope people can learn a thing or two from the stories I have shared in this article.
