Police in Bazhong, Sichuan Province Harass Plaintiffs Suing Jiang Zemin

September 17, 2015 |   By a Minghui correspondent in Sichuan Province, China

(Minghui.org) Since August, the Bazhou District Police Department, together with neighborhood committees, have harassed and arrested Falun Dafa practitioners who filed criminal complaints against former Communist Party leader Jiang Zemin.

The district's Domestic Security police broke into Mr. Wu Yinghao's home on August 27, 2015 and arrested Mr. Wu and two other practitioners. The deputy team lead told Mr. Wu, “You helped others write their criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, so you committed a crime.”

Police also ransacked Mr. Wu's home and seized his computer, a printer, Falun Dafa books and materials, and over 19,000 yuan. The deputy team lead said he was “following an order” from the government.

Jiangbei police, a deputy Party Secretary, and a deputy director from the neighborhood committee broke into practitioner Liao Zeguang's home on August 11, 2015. The Party Secretary shouted, “How dare you sue former president Jiang Zemin!” The deputy director then threatened, “If you dare sue him, we'll cancel your welfare!”

The men tried to force Mr. Liao to sign a statement withdrawing his lawsuit. Instead, Mr. Liao wrote, “Bring Jiang Zemin to justice.” They stormed out of Mr. Liao's home, but later called him repeatedly, demanding that he drop his lawsuit.

Deputy director Li Shihua of the Longquan Neighborhood Committee told Mr. Liao, “Suing Jiang Zemin is going against the Communist Party.” She tried several times to force him to withdraw his lawsuit, and threatened to cancel his welfare. She also made threats against Mr. Liao's children and other family members.

Police and neighborhood committee officials from Enyang District and the city of Yuxi broke into practitioner Yang Xueqiong's home on August 13. The next day, they went to practitioner Chen Shufang's home and made further threats, trying to determine who had helped practitioners write criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin. They also searched the practitioners' homes and seized Falun Dafa books and materials, computer equipment, and other items.

Background

In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Dafa.

The persecution has led to the deaths of many practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.

Under his personal direction, the CCP established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office” on June 10, 1999. This organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Dafa: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.

Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
