(Minghui.org) More people in the international community are learning about the recent flood of criminal complaints against former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin, who ordered the violent suppression of Falun Gong in China. In Sydney, 450 people gave their signatures on a petition in support of prosecuting Jiang Zemin. The three-hour signature drive was held on September 11 in front of City Hall.
“We cannot accept this horrible persecution, and everybody should do something to stop it,” one woman said with tears in her eyes. “I will tell more people to help stop the persecution.”Sydney residents sign a petition to bring Jiang Zemin to justice in China.
Passerby Chantal Hopwood said, “Falun Gong practitioners look so peaceful. How can the Chinese government treat them so horribly?” When she learned about practitioners being killed for their organs in China, she said, “It is unacceptable to harvest organs from living people. It is beyond one's imagination that it has been done by a government.”
“I must sign the petition. Everybody, including the government, should support your peaceful resistance,” said Chantal.
A Chinese girl read practitioners' display boards for a long time. She said to a practitioner that this kind of information is censored in China, and asked several questions about Falun Gong.
She said what shocked her is that Chinese people, including herself, know so little about such a brutal and long-term persecution. She is happy that practitioners are protected in Australia. After signing the petition, she said she will tell her friends what she learned.
