(Minghui.org) I have noticed some problems that exist among local Falun Dafa practitioners that have caused damage to our cultivation environment. I would like to share these with other practitioners.
Relying on Human Rights Lawyers to Rescue Practitioners
Family members of arrested Dafa practitioners have been hiring human rights lawyers to help get them released. Some practitioners guaranteed that the lawyers would get their loved ones released.
Many families placed high hopes in these lawyers, but in cases where the practitioners were not released, some of the family members developed a negative attitude toward practitioners and refused to listen to them when they spoke about Falun Gong or the persecution.
Some practitioners wanted to be the only point of contact with the lawyers and took charge of everything themselves. When a practitioner was arrested, these practitioners demanded that the practitioner's family members hire a lawyer, and even asked local practitioners to donate money to pay for them.
Not Exposing the Persecution
Those who managed to get released often told others that they had become a target of the persecution because they didn't write a guarantee statement renouncing their belief, and that the police could arrest them at any time.
They also told other practitioners to stay away from them and not to expose the persecution they suffered, otherwise they would be arrested again.
Master said,
“If your righteous thoughts are strong enough, who would dare to do something? So if you are in the right, Master can resolve anything. But if you don’t act righteously, what can Master do?” (“20th Anniversary Fa Teaching”)
When we have fear and refuse to tell others about our experience of persecution, even trying to distance ourselves from others for fear of reprisal, such interference prevents us from forming a one body and working together as practitioners in counteracting the persecution.
Interference with Lawsuits Against Jiang Zemin
Some practitioners who filed criminal complaints against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), were arrested recently.
But they insisted on keeping news of their arrests quiet, not wanting other practitioners to panic about it. However, when others found out many of them became fearful, having yet to file their complaints against Jiang.
Fear Led to an Awry Path
When facing pressure from the persecution, some practitioners stopped practicing Dafa and even joined other religions. People from the neighborhood committee rewarded them for doing so, arranging jobs for them and providing them with affordable housing. Living a comfortable life, they went around announcing among practitioners that it was all given to them by Master.
Some of these people went on TV to talk about how their life has improved, helping the CCP to promote their propaganda.
The problems stated above are only my opinion at my limited level. I hope they can serve as a reminder that every practitioner should study the Fa well and really think about how we can better assist Master in Fa rectification and awaken more sentient beings.
