(Minghui.org) Li Wei a deputy police director, is a good friend of mine. When he got the word that the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) began the persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners on July 20 1999, he called my husband and told him to tell me to be careful.
I went to Beijing three times to appeal for Falun Dafa. I was once sent to a detention center for fifteen days. He brought my husband to the detention center to see me and gave me a box of food. I shared it with the six other practitioners that were with me.
I distributed Falun Dafa informational materials in a market with another practitioner on a summer night in 2003. We were reported by a person who did not understand Falun Dafa and the police officers came for us. I called my husband immediately. I had half a dozen flyers and stuck them in a gap in the backseat of my car. I sent righteous thoughts that they would not be found by the police. Several police officers searched my car but did not find any Dafa flyers.
My husband and Li Wei later arrived. The officers saw their supervisor and they changed their attitude and became pleasant. Li Wei said, “let me deal with this case,” and dismissed the other officers. The other practitioners and I went with him to the office. We had a nice cup of tea and then we were all released.
He then rescued a relative of mine in 2004 who was detained because they were distributing materials about Falun Dafa.
Of course, I often took the chance to tell him about Falun Dafa. I gave him flyers for he and his wife to read, and they both quit the CCP. They previously did not speak well of Dafa so I encouraged them to write solemn statements, which they did.
In the Spring of 2012 after having a CT scan, Li Wei was diagnosed with cancer. He did not believe there was any hope and prepared to die. His wife was heart-broken and cried. I went to visit him and told him he needs to repeat “Falun Dafa is good! Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” He agreed and when he went for a pathological exam a few days later in another hospital, the results were that he did not have any cancer.
One day, we had a BBQ outside. I said to Li Wei “Falun Dafa is good! Immediately he responded with “Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” Another couple present who had previously not wanted to listen to the facts about Falun Dafa repeated our words. Then we all repeated “Falun Dafa is good, Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good!” Now most of our friends know Dafa is great.
Li Wei discovered a swollen lymph node on his neck in 2004. He was afraid it was cancer. He went to Beijing's hospital to have it checked out. The results indicated no cancer.
I told him: “It will save your life if you do not ever take the post of director of the 610 Office even if it means losing your job.”
