(Minghui.org) Fellow practitioners commented on articles I published on the Minghui website, saying that I had a strong competitive mentality. I now realize that my earlier articles were lacking, and were exaggerations of the persecution faced by practitioners in my area. To improve in my cultivation, I have looked within and eliminated attachments and human notions.
Indoctrinated with Marxist-atheist Ideology
My mind was filled with the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) Marxist-atheist ideology, which holds that people must “fight with heaven, fight with earth, fight with each other” and focuses on “class struggle.”
Chinese people cannot escape the CCP indoctrination, which focuses on selfish gain. The CCP dictates all educational content. Since I worked in the Chinese Communist Party’s education sector, I could not escape this indoctrination, even after I began to work.
Indoctrination Influences How We Think and What We Do
When I wrote articles, I felt pretty good about them before I submitted them to the Minghui website. I was proud of the language I used. However, when they were published, sections I thought to be well written had often been deleted, and many words that described my thoughts were changed. Also, articles that I had spent much time on were not published.
That troubled me. However, after I studied the Fa and looked inside, I came to realize that Master was helping me to discard my notions. I memorized Master’s Fa and sent righteous thoughts to eliminate the notions that were interfering with me. I read the articles revised by the Minghui editors and also many articles about the persecution, so I could write articles that were more acceptable to the editors.
My writing skills gradually improved, and more and more of my articles were published. I was excited when I saw my articles that exposed the persecution on the Minghui website. I soon realized that I had attachments of zealotry, showing off, and seeking fame.
Discarding the Show-off Mentality
As soon as I found out about the 9th Online Experience Sharing Conference, I wrote an experience sharing article, which was published. I told a practitioner that my article was published and asked whether she had read it. She did, but did not comment on it, which bothered me. I immediately realized that I had to let go of my attachments to zealotry and showing off.
That practitioner told me a month later that she had read my article again. She said, “It was really strange. It did not seem like much the first time I read it, but when I read it again, it made me cry.” I saw this as an opportunity to let go of more attachments, but was not moved by this practitioner's reaction.
I also came to understand that a successful publication of an article that exposes the persecution is the result of the cooperation between practitioners. To verify facts, sometimes fellow practitioners have to make several trips. I was often moved by their selflessness.
Form a Whole Body to Expose the Persecution
It is not enough to expose the crimes of some local individual evildoers and local government units. We should thoroughly expose the persecution system in our region.
I collected facts about crimes committed by all officials and others, including those in the political and legal system, and the government agencies in our region.
Practitioners from surrounding counties and cities cooperated with us to expose the persecution. Practitioners in two neighboring cities (A and B) agreed that we had to cooperate with each other, but such a collective effort was very difficult.
Faced with uncertainties, we shared our thoughts based on the Fa and came to understand that as long as we chose the right path to validate the Fa, Master will help us. We discussed and decided to do this project step by step.
We first downloaded articles and information from the Minghui website that exposed the persecution in our region. Then we categorized the information into different sections, such as practitioner(s) tortured to death, disabled due to torture, sentenced to labor camps and prisons, taken to brainwashing centers, detained, and persecuted financially. The information was collected and we combined the categories into one report.
Interference
The practitioners in cities A and B who organized the information were arrested. The practitioners in city A were taken to a prison. The police ransacked the practitioners' home in city B and confiscated the computers and USB drives. One practitioner in city B was released.
Practitioners were worried that I might also face persecution. I reassured them and said that Master would help us complete the project, As long as we followed the path arranged by Master, nothing could stop us.
Minghui replied to the practitioner in city B. We found out that he had already submitted the material to the Minghui website for publication. This was not expected because we had agreed to notify each other about anything we did. Moreover, in order to expose the persecution as a whole, the material organized by the practitioners in our city was put on hold. This was disturbing, but I calmed down and looked inside.
Cooperating to Expose the Persecution in Our Region
I found the attachments to fame, selfishness, and self-validation. Master asks practitioners to walk their own path, and had arranged that I coordinate, and not be in charge of the project.
It bothered me that fellow practitioners did not tell me when they submitted their articles. Was this due to jealousy and attachment to fame? I realized that I still had these attachments and needed to let go of them.
However, I sent a message to the practitioner in city B explaining my thoughts. He apologized and explained that he had given the materials to practitioners for review and he did not know who submitted the information for publication. We both looked within.
He told me that he gave the material to practitioners with good writing skills. They organized the materials, wrote an article, and submitted it for publication.
We still cooperate with practitioners in cities A and B. We co-author articles to expose the persecution and work together harmoniously.
