Compassion Helps Everyone in a Fa Study Group to Improves as One

(Minghui.org) The majority of the practitioners in my Fa study group are in their sixties and some did not know how to read when they decided to become practitioners. Nonetheless, with their firm belief in the practice and steadfast effort, now all of them can read Zhuan Falun and Fa teachings. Though we have run into many bumps along our path, we still improve as one body following Teacher's guidance. The following are some of our stories.

Letting Go of Attachments to Better Clarify the Truth

In September 2004 when Teacher published “Let Go of Human Attachments and Save the World's People,” He told us to:

“...all Dafa disciples, students both new and veteran, should get to work and begin comprehensively clarifying the truth. This is especially so for the Dafa disciples in Mainland China: each must come out and clarify the truth, bringing it to every field and valley, mountain and hill, not omitting a single area where there are people.”

This came as a shock for us because we still had the attachment of fear, especially after the Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party were published. We repeatedly studied “We Are Not 'Getting Political'” and “Turning the Wheel Towards the Human World.” Eventually we understood that getting people to know about the persecution and to quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliates was not getting political, but rather saving people. In the following ten years we went out to clarify the truth in groups every day, rain or shine.

Two practitioners came across three young policemen one day. The police weren't interested in what they had to say. With a pure thought of wanting to save them, one of the practitioners asked if they had heard about a story that could keep them safe.

That got their attention. “Please remember that Falun Dafa is good and Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance is good,” the practitioner said. “This will keep you safe in time of disaster. Also, as you might already know, many high-ranking officials are in a hurry to emigrate and hide their assets overseas. They know that the CCP will collapse soon. You need to quit the CCP and its affiliates so that you don't go down with it.” The three officers agreed.

Three practitioners were giving out Falun Dafa literature on the street. As they handed a copy to a woman, she immediately asked, “Are you aware that I am an agent from the 610 Office.” None of them were scared and one said, “Even an agent from the 610 Office wants to stay safe, doesn't she?” Her attitude changed, and she left with some literature in hand.

Helping Practitioners Memorize the Fa Teachings

“In order for Dafa disciples to walk their paths well and do the three things well, they must study the Fa well and take Fa-study seriously.”

“That is because the Fa is the foundation; it is what’s fundamental for Dafa disciples; it is what ensures everything; and it is the avenue by which a human being journeys toward godhood.” ("To the Australia Fa Conference")

Teacher tirelessly reminds us in his lectures of the importance of constantly studying the teachings. For many years we gathered every Saturday afternoon and studied together.

A practitioner was illegally incarcerated for eight years for refusing to give up her belief. When she was released, other practitioners came to help her clean her house and brought her food. Her eyesight had deteriorated with the torture she suffered and she could no longer read.

She started to listen to Teacher's lecture recordings. She wanted to memorize the teachings, so she didn't have to depend on the recordings. With other practitioners' help, she finished memorizing the three volumes of Hong Yin. She then moved on to memorizing Zhuan Falun.

At one point the practitioner could not recall what she had read after a few tries. She became impatient and anxious, which made it harder for her to remember the teachings.

Another practitioner told her that being anxious or being overjoyed when she memorized the teachings were both attachments that she needed to eliminate. She realized that Teacher was using this opportunity to improve her character.

“Cultivation depends on one’s own efforts, while the transformation of gong is done by one’s master. It is good enough if you have this wish. It is the master who actually does this, as you are simply unable to do it.” (Zhuan Falun)

As her character improved and with other practitioners' help, she has successfully memorized eight chapters of Zhuan Falun so far.

Everyone Working Together

One practitioner suffered from a severe case of herpes and was covered in blisters. Blisters soon covered the inside of her mouth and she was dying. Her doctor at a major hospital told her there was no cure and sent her home.

We learned about it and took turns to send righteous thoughts for her around the clock. One practitioner went to her home each day to care for her. Often practitioners came to study the teachings with her.

A few months later she recovered. The mighty power of Falun Dafa saved a person whom the doctor had given up on. This was also a result of practitioners working together and helping one another.

Looking Within

The husband of a practitioner often cursed at her and didn't want her to practice Falun Dafa. She was in distress and resented her husband. She eventually realized that she was the cause of this fight when she read “Transformation of Karma” in Zhuan Falun. She began to improve herself and treat her husband with compassion. Gradually the fights stopped and they were on good terms again. The husband ultimately became supportive of her practice.
