Additional Persecution News from China – January 2, 2016 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, at least 15 Falun Gong practitioners were recently illegally arrested and 4 practitioners were known to have been subjected to mistreatment. At least 2 of these practitioners were arrested because they filed lawsuits against Jiang Zemin.

10. [Changling County, Jilin Province] Ms. Gao Fengmei and Ms. Zhang Xu Detained

1. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Li Xiaoming Sentenced

Mr. Li Xiaoming was arrested on September 29, 2015 and detained at Dashiqiao Detention Center. He was sentenced to a three-year prison term on December 6, 2015. He has appealed the sentence.

2. [Heihe City, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Zhang Xianchen Detained

Mr. Zhang Xianchen was arrested on August 20, 2015 and detained at Heihe Detention Center. His family is not allowed to send him clothes with the cold weather. As a result, Mr. Zhang developed hemoptysis. His family has applied for medical parole for him, but was refused.

3. [Huanggang City, Hubei Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Xu Lamei, Ms. Chen Juhua, Ms. Wan Xiju, Ms. Fan, and Ms. Zhao Yumo were arrested by officers, including Wan Huiya from Huangzhou District Domestic Security Division, on December 30, 2015. The police ransacked their homes.

Ms. Wan, Ms. Fan, and Ms. Zhao were released after two hours of detention. Ms. Xu and Ms. Chen are detained at No. 2 Detention Center.

4. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yuan Suxia Detained

Ms. Yuan Suxia was arrested by officers from Xugezhuang Police Station and Criminal Division on December 27, 2015. She is detained at Fengnan Detention Center.

5. [Jiayu County, Hubei Province] Mr. Kong Shengci Detained

Mr. Kong Shengci was arrested in late December 2015, for talking to people about the persecution of Falun Gong. He is detained at Xianning City Brainwashing Center.

6. [Guiyang City, Guizhou Province] Ms. Hao Mingfen and Ms. Hu Mingqiong Arrested

Ms. Hao Mingfen was arrested by officers form Dashandong Police Station on December 23, 2015. She was taken to Lengshuigou Detention Center in Baiyun District.

Ms. Hu Mingqiong was arrested by officers, including Qiu Yang and He Youliang from Youzhajie Police Station, on December 28, 2015. Her whereabouts are still unknown.

7. [Manzhouli, Inner Mongolia] Ms. Ma Yumei’s Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Ma Yumei was arrested and taken to Daobei Police Station on May 3, 2013 for distributing Shen Yun Performing Arts DVDs. The police confiscated computers, printers, Falun Gong books, a picture of the founder of Falun Gong, and other personal items from her home.

Ms. Ma was detained at Manzhouli Detention Center for 58 days. She was then released on medical bail, but was later changed to pending trial.

Ms. Ma was tried in April 2015. In September, her family learned that she was sentenced to a three-year prison term. She escaped to avoid further persecution. Her whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Zhenwei Detained

Mr. Liu Zhenwei was arrested at home by officers from Xugezhuang Police Station on December 26, 2015. He is detained at Fengnan District Detention Center.

9. [Dongguan City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Wang Fenglian and Mr. Yin Fu Arrested

Ms. Wang Fenglian was arrested on December 30, 2015.

Mr. Yin Fu was also arrested at his store on the same day for distributing informational materials about the persecution of Falun Gong.

Ms. Gao Fengmei and Ms. Zhang Xu were recently arrested for suing Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese dictator. They are detained at Songyuan City Detention Center.
