(Minghui.org) Police in Xuanpingbao Township have been harassing, arresting and detaining local Falun Gong practitioners who recently filed criminal complaints against former Chinese dictator Jiang Zemin.
Beginning last year, Falun Gong practitioners around the world who have suffered in the persecution launched by Jiang 16 years ago have chosen to file legal complaints against him with China's highest court. To curb the trend, the Chinese regime had local police forces harass these practitioners in an attempt to intimidate others from doing so.
Police arrested Ms. Zuo Dengling (左登玲) and held her at Shisanli Detention Center in Zhangjiakou City. They confiscated her computer and Falun Gong literature after ransacking her home.
Three days later on January 8, 2016, four people from the United Front Work Department and Justice Bureau went to harass practitioners in different villages and made audio recordings of the interrogations. On the same day, several policemen went to Mr. Yang Youzhi’s (杨有智) home and asked him whether he had filed the lawsuit and whether he still practiced Falun Gong. Mr. Yang frankly admitted to both questions, as his actions were legal and within his constitutional rights.
The police and the local officials used deceptive means to bring Ms. Cao Runhua (曹润花) to the police station on January 14. Ms. Cao refused to comply with the police order to curse at the founder of Falun Gong. As a result, she was held for 15 days at Shisanli Detention Center.
