(Minghui.org) Ms. Cheng Fuhua, 69, from Dalian City was on the verge of death when she was released on medical parole in January 2016 after seven months of detention. She was unable to recover and passed away on August 6, 2016.
Before her death, she filed a criminal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime, for the years of persecution she endured. She was arrested six times and suffered psychiatric abuse.
Five Arrests Between 1999 and 2004
October 1999: Ms. Cheng went to Beijing to appeal for the right to practice Falun Gong and was arrested on October 25, 1999. She was transferred from Beijing to Dalian, where she was held in a detention center, a drug rehabilitation center, and a psychiatric hospital.
She was held for a month in the psychiatric hospital, where she was given unknown drugs. Her body was swollen and she became disoriented.
May 2000: Second arrest. After her release, she became homeless for six months to avoid being persecuted again.
October 2001: She was arrested a third time on October 16, 2001.
September 2002: She was arrested a fourth time on September 30, 2002. While detained she was tortured, which included pulling by the handcuffs, brutal kicking, being tied to an iron chair, force-fed, and tied to the death bed. She was given two years of forced labor but released given her poor health.
April 2004: She was arrested a fifth time and tortured while detained. She was force-fed and tied to the death bed. She began to urinate blood after 26 days of detention. The forced labor camp refused to accept her due to her poor health.
June 2015: Last Arrest, and Death in 2016
Ms. Cheng was arrested for the sixth time on June 1, 2015. She developed scabies in the detention center. She was put on medication, but she developed an allergy to it. Her condition worsened.
She was humiliated as she was stripped, monitored around the clock, and held in a cell with more than 20 inmates.
Her family hired lawyers, who failed to get her released.
By October 2015, her face had turned dark and her belly, legs and feet were swollen. Her condition kept deteriorating. The police forced her relatives to pay 5,000 yuan before she was given medical parole at the end of January 2016.
By that time of her release, she was unconscious, and her body was swollen. Ms. Cheng did not recover and passed away on August 6, 2016.
Background
In 1999, Jiang Zemin, as head of the Chinese Communist Party, overrode other Politburo standing committee members and launched the violent suppression of Falun Gong.
The persecution has led to the deaths of many Falun Gong practitioners in the past 16 years. More have been tortured for their belief and even killed for their organs. Jiang Zemin is directly responsible for the inception and continuation of the brutal persecution.
Under his personal direction, the Chinese Communist Party established an extralegal security organ, the “610 Office,” on June 10, 1999. The organization overrides police forces and the judicial system in carrying out Jiang's directive regarding Falun Gong: to ruin their reputations, cut off their financial resources, and destroy them physically.
Chinese law allows for citizens to be plaintiffs in criminal cases, and many practitioners are now exercising that right to file criminal complaints against the former dictator.
