(Minghui.org) A married couple in Haicheng City was tried on November 18 for refusing to renounce Falun Gong, a spiritual discipline being persecuted by the Chinese communist regime.
Mr. He Bin and his wife Ms. Fan Yuzhi were home on June 28, 2016 when about a dozen officers, who claimed to be collecting water bills, broke in and arrested them.
The police ransacked the couple’s home without showing a search warrant.
Only five family members were allowed to attend the trial in Haicheng City Court. The rest of the seats were occupied by agents from various government entities.
Mr. He’s hair turned gray in just four months of detention. His family wonder why his hands were on his stomach during the entire hearing, and they are worried about his well-being.
The couple testified in their own defense, arguing that no law criminalizes Falun Gong and that they should never have been arrested or prosecuted for their faith.
