Additional Persecution News from China – October 29, 2016 (8 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 8 cities or counties in 6 provinces. According to this report, 7 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 15 were illegally arrested.

1. [Shuangcheng City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Liu Yanyi Sentenced

Ms. Liu Yanyi, 45, was sentenced to seven years in prison.

2. [Chuxiong City, Yunan Province] Two Practitioners Tried

Mr. An Lanbo and Ms. Wang Ping's trial was held in Courtroom #7 in the Chuxiong City Courthouse on the morning of October 26, 2016. The prosecutors want to have Mr. An sentenced to 3-4 years in prison and Ms. Wang to 7-8 years.

Ms. Wang and Mr. An were arrested for distributing Falun Gong materials in December 2015. Their homes were ransacked. Officials from the 610 Office and the Domestic Security Division subpoenaed them repeatedly while they were released on bail. They also threatened to stop their pensions and sentence them to prison and tried to force them to write guarantee statements.

Ms. Wang and Mr. An are disabled and work at the Chuxiong Orphanage. Ms. Wang was once held in a forced labor camp for two years for trying to put up a banner that read “Truthfulness-Benevolence-Forbearance is great.”

3. [Meihekou City, Jilin Province] Eight Practitioners Held in Brainwashing Center

Eight practitioners have been held in a brainwashing center in Shuangxing Middle School since October 20, 2016. They are: Ms. Wang Yumei, Ms. Huang Shufen, Ms. Chang Guifen and Ms. Wang Feng from Shancheng Town; Ms. Fan Yanju from Xinli Village, Shuidao Town; Ms. Li Yuhua from Hongmei Town; Mr. Sun Defu from Heishancheng Town; and Mr. Wang Zhongjiang from Hailong Town.

4. [Chengdu City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zhang Qiaozhen and Ms. He Niang Arrested

Ms. Zhang Qiaozhen and Ms. He Niang were arrested on the morning of October 27, 2016, while distributing Falun Gong fliers in North Railroad Station. Their whereabouts are unknown.

5. [Xuzhou City, Jiangsu Province] Three Practitioners Sentenced

Mr. Geng Huaipu, Mr. Meng Qingquan, and Ms. Niu Shuxia from the Jiawang District were arrested in June 2015.

Mr. Geng and Mr. Meng were held in the Jiawand Detention Center for a year before being sentenced to prison, Mr. Geng to three years and Mr. Meng to two-and-a-half years.

Ms. Niu was sentenced to one year in prison after she was released on bail. She is being held in Nantong Women's Prison.

6. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Sisters Held in Detention Center

Ms. Ding Yanxia was arrested at home on October 27, 2016, by officers from the Liaohe Police Station and the Shuangtaizi District Police Department. Her house was ransacked.

Her sister, Ms. Ding Yanqing, was arrested at work by officers from the Liaohe Police Station.

Both women are being held in the Panjin City Detention Center.

7. [Liaoyang City, Liaoning Province] Three Practitioners Arrested

Three Hongwei District practitioners, Mr. Su Zhenxing and Mr. Liu Ying and his wife Ms. Xu, went to the countryside on October 27, 2016, to talk to people about the persecution and distribute Falun Gong calendars. Officers from the Gongchangling Police Department arrested them and ransacked their homes. Their whereabouts are unknown.

8. [Chongqing] Mr. Cheng Degui Repeatedly Harassed

Mr. Cheng Degui was arrested at home on August 12, 2016, by officers from the Lishi Town Police Station and the Comprehensive Management Office, including director Zhou from Mr. Cheng's hometown. His home was ransacked, and Falun Gong books, a photo of Master Li Hongzhi (the founder of Falun Gong), and over 460 yuan in cash were confiscated.

He was taken to the police station and handcuffed to a chair for several hours before being taken to the Chengnan Police Station for interrogation.

Officers from the 610 Office then transferred him to the Jiangjin Brainwashing Center and held him for seven days.

On August 30, 2016, 610 Office agent He Xiuhong and a dozen officers from the Lishi Police Station and the Comprehensive Management Office went to Mr. Cheng's home and forced him to read from a piece of paper they gave him while they videotaped him.

They went to Mr. Cheng's home for the third time on September 1, 2016; put up slogans that slandered Falun Gong and the founder of the practice on his wall; and videotaped their “visit.”

Director Liu of the Lishi Police Station went to Mr. Cheng's home to get his signature on October 8, but to no avail.

Mr. Cheng was taken to the police station on October 14, 2016, after he refused to sign a document.

The police went to his home to get a signature again on October 17, but Mr. Cheng refused to cooperate.
