(Minghui.org) Falun Gong practitioner Yu Xindi was recently sentenced to two years in prison, while another practitioner Ms. Luo Jinling was hospitalized as a result of being persecuted. They both were arrested with five other practitioners on April 25, 2016, which the authorities have considered a “sensitive date” since the April 25 peaceful appeal of over 10,000 Falun Gong practitioners in Beijing.
Ms. Yu was arrested by police from Xujiapeng Police Station in Wuhan City and agents from the Wuhan 610 Office on April 25. She was taken to the Wuhan First Detention Center 10 days later where she was held for 15 days. She was then taken to the notorious Yangyuan Brainwashing Center. The persecution she suffered there caused her feet to badly swell.
Ms. Yu refused to renounce Falun Gong. She was taken back to the Wuhan First Detention Center in September. The police recently notified her family that she had been sentenced to two years in prison.
The family requested to see the sentencing document. The police told them that there was none and directed them to bring money to the Wuhan First Detention Center.
Ms. Luo was arrested by police from Wuchang District and the Huarong Township Police Station in Ezhou City. The police ransacked her home, and seized Falun Gong books, informational materials, and some equipment. Ms. Luo was taken to the Wuhan First Detention Center for 15 days. She was then taken to the Yangyuan Brainwashing Center, where she was tortured and interrogated for five months. Ms. Luo refused to renounce Falun Gong, and was taken back to the First Detention Center.
Ms. Luo was severely traumatized both physically and mentally. She was taken to the Ankang Hospital where police guards watched her. Her family members were not allowed to see her when they delivered goods to her.
