Additional Persecution News from China – December 9, 2016 (28 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 21 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 12 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 29 were illegally arrested.

1. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Gu Xiaoou Arrested

Ms. Gu Xiaoou, 72, was arrested on December 6, 2016, and taken to Dachang District the following day. Her current whereabouts are unknown.

2. [Chongqing] Three Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Yao Rongxuan, Mr. Luo Mingyou, and Mr. Tang Fenghua from Yongchuan District were arrested by officers from the Yongchuan District Domestic Security Division and the 610 Office on December 6, 2016. Their current whereabouts are unknown.

Officers from the Hegeng Police Station ransacked Ms. Zhang Xiaohong's home on December 6, 2016. They confiscated Falun Gong books, copies of Minghui Weekly, an MP3 audio player, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and other materials.

3. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Cuiqing Detained

Ms. Li Cuiqing from Luwangzhuang Village, Niutouya Town, Beidaihe District, was arrested at home by Wang Wei, director of the Niutouya Police Station, and other officers on December 7, 2016. Her family was told that she had been detained for ten days.

4. [Guan County, Shandong Province] Mr. Tian Huancheng Detained

Mr. Tian Huancheng was arrested on December 6, 2016, and taken to the Liaocheng Detention Center.

5. [Xintai City, Shandong Province] Mr. Guo Yisen and Ms. Du Chenglan Arrested

Mr. Guo Yisen, 64, was arrested on July 11, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the communist regime who initiated the persecution of Falun Gong. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated a copy of the book Zhuan Falun, four appeal letters for suing Jiang Zemin, two computers, two e-book readers , and a color printer. Mr. Guo was detained for 38 days in the Xintai City Detention Center. He returned home on August 17.

Ms. Du Chenglan, 63, was arrested, then released the same day for health reasons.

6. [Laizhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Cui Lili Taken to Jinan Prison

Ms. Cui Lili was tried at the Laizhou City Court on April 27, 2016. It was reported after June that she had been sentenced to seven and a half years in prison. Her family appealed to the intermediate court and demanded a second trial. The intermediate court upheld the original sentence without a hearing. Ms. Cui was sent to Jinan Prison on September 27, 2016.

7. [Shanghai] Ms. Xue Aiqin Detained

Ms. Xue Aiqin, nearly 70, from Xinzhuang Town, Minhang District, was arrested on December 6, 2016 for distributing Falun Gong materials. Her home was ransacked. She was held in the Minhang Detention Center.

8. [Chongqing] Mr. Tang Quan Arrested

Mr. Tang Quan from Hechuan District has been missing since October 25, 2016. It was learned later that he was arrested when he went to the neighborhood community office to collect a minimum stipend.

9. [Tianjin] Ms. Zhao Manhong Arrested

Ms. Zhao Manhong was arrested by officers from the Erhaoqiao Police Station, Hedong District, on the morning of December 8, 2016.

10. [Zibo City, Shandong Province] Ms. Yu Xiulin Arrested

Ms. Yu Xiulin was arrested on December 8, 2016 for passing out calendars containing information about Falun Gong.

11. [Nanchang City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Wang Fengying Arrested

Ms. Wang Fengying, 75, was arrested by seven police officers on the morning of December 5, 2016, and taken to the Dunzitang Police Station. She was released that afternoon.

12. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Sun Jing, Her Husband, and Ms. Zhu Ying Detained

Liu Dagang (from the Xinbin County Police Department), Zhao Lianke (head of the Domestic Security Division), Zhang Enxiu, and other officers ransacked Ms. Sun Jing's home in the Meichang area on December 7, 2016. They confiscated three printers, a desktop computer, a notebook computer, and a paper cutter. Ms. Sun and her husbandwas arrested.

Ms. Zhu Ying was arrested at the same time. Her home was also ransacked.

Ms. Sun and Ms. Zhu were sent to the Nangou Detention Center in Nangou that evening, and Ms. Sun's husband was held in the Nanchapeng Detention Center.

15. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Wang Ling Detained

Ms. Wang Ling is being held in the Yaojia Detention Center.

16. [Yuncheng City, Shanxi Province] Mr. Jia Guojie Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Jia Guojie was given a three-year prison term on August 29, 2016.

17. [Handan City, Hebei Province] Mr. Song Lixin Arrested

A dozen officers from the Shijiazhuang Railway Police Department, the Matou Railway Police Department, and the head of the Ci County Domestic Security Division broke into Mr. Song Lixin and his son Mr. Song Lei's store and ransacked it on the morning of December 8, 2016. They confiscated Falun Gong teaching lectures, and copies of Minghui Weekly. They then took Mr. Song Lei to his home and ransacked the place. They confiscated photos of the founder of Falun Gong and additional lectures. Mr. Song Lixin was arrested.

18. [Tianjin] Mr. Chai Baohua Detained

Mr. Chai Baohua was arrested and taken to the Beichen District Detention Center on December 7, 2016.

19. [Tai'an City, Shandong Province] Mr. Wang Youqin Arrested

Mr. Wang Youqin was arrested by officers from the Daolang Police Station on the morning of December 8, 2016, for handing out desktop calendars. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books.

20. [Langfang City, Hebei Province] Ms. Chao Dongmei Detained

Ms. Chao Dongmei was held in the Langfang City Detention Center.

21. [Kunming City, Yunnan Province] Ms. Qiu Hunan and Mr. Tang Guangwei Arrested

Ms. Qiu Hunan, in her seventies, and Mr. Tang Guangwei, nearly 70, from Chenggong District were arrested on December 8, 2016. Both of their homes were ransacked, and both practitioners were taken to a hospital for a physical exam.

22. [Xiantao City, Hubei Province] Mr. Liu Jun Detained

Mr. Liu Jun was arrested and taken to the Qianjiang Detention Center on December 7, 2016.

23. [Jinzhou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Hong Detained

Mr. Wang Hong from Yi County was arrested and taken to the Jinzhou City Detention Center on the evening of December 8, 2016.

24. [Tianjin] Mr. Wang Lianrong and Mr. Tian Arrested

Mr. Wang Lianrong and 85-year old Mr. Tian were arrested at home by officers from the Zhendong Police Station, Yangliuqing Town, Xiqing District, on December 7, 2016. Mr. Tian's cell phone was confiscated. Both practitioners were released that afternoon.

25. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Four Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Zhou Mingli, Ms. Zhao Lianzhen, Ms. Li Jing, and Ms. Liu Zhixian, all around 60 to 70 years old, were arrested and taken to the Xin'an Police Station, Qiaokou District, where they were subjected to coercive interrogations. The officers took their photographs and fingerprints. The practitioners were forced to fingerprint written notes taken by the officers during the interrogation on the afternoon of November 30, 2016.

The officers also ransacked Ms. Zhou's home in the Hanzhong Neighborhood and confiscated Falun Gong books and materials. The four practitioners have returned home.

26. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Yan Shanwei and Wife Ms. Li Yumei Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Yan Shanwei and his wife Ms. Li Yumei were tried at the Development Zone Court on November 15, 2016. Her family was informed on December 8, that Ms. Li had been sentenced to four years in prison, and fined 5,000 yuan. Mr. Yan was sentenced to three years and six months in prison, and fined 3,000 yuan.

27. [Leshan City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Liang Junhua Sentenced to Prison

Mr. Liang Junhua was given a three-year prison term for suing Jiang Zemin.

28. [Luzhou City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Cheng Sigui Sentenced to Prison

Three staff members from the Jiangyang District Court went to Ms. Cheng Sigui's home on December 6, 2016 to deliver a verdict, which sentenced Ms. Cheng to three years in prison and fined her 3,000 yuan.
