(Minghui.org) There are only three of us in my family--my parents and me. My mother started practicing Falun Dafa in 2008, and my father and I started cultivating Dafa somewhat later. While telling people about Falun Dafa and the persecution last year, my mother was arrested.
After our local coordinator learned of the arrest, he organized practitioners to send righteous thoughts near the police station, and he went with my father to the station to request that my mother be released.
Our fellow practitioners positioned themselves near the police station every day, starting at about 8:30 a.m., to send righteous thoughts. My mother was taken during the summer, and the practitioners persisted through many scorching days.
Master said, “The next person's things are your things, and your things are his things.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference,” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference II)
I deeply experienced that our local practitioners are one body.
My father and I went to the police station daily and asked for my mother's release. The officer in charge of her case avoided us. My father saw some people in the hall who were there on business, and he told them that my mother had been arrested because she followed Truthfulness-Compassion-Forbearance and strived to be a good person. Some of them expressed sympathy.
When we saw police personnel entering or leaving the building, we also told them about Falun Gong and the persecution. We did this for more than two weeks. Fellow practitioners quietly supported us by sending righteous thoughts nearby.
Later, we learned that my mother’s arrest had been authorized. My father and I started running between the police department and the procuratorate. We asked to meet whoever was in charge of her case, but guards at the door stopped us every time, so we talked to the guards about Falun Gong and the persecution.
Master said, “Wherever there's a problem, that is where you need to clarify the truth and save people.” (“Teaching the Fa at the Washington, D.C. Fa Conference,” from Teaching the Fa at the Conference II)
The guards were very rude at first. We did not give up, and they changed. One finally said, “I think you have convinced me. I am not against Falun Gong.” After that, the guards greeted us with a smile. Finally, they gave us the phone numbers of those assigned to the case.
My mother’s case was assigned to a particular court, so we went to the courthouse and asked to speak to the chief judge. Each time we were told that the chief judge was out and to call her. When we finally reached her on the phone, we explained how we had benefited from Falun Gong and talked about the persecution; she listened quietly. The judge still would not meet with us, but we sent righteous thoughts at the courthouse.
I wrote a letter to the chief judge before the trial started. I was inspired by a Minghui article “Improving and Maturing in the Process of Rescuing My Mother from Detention.” I handed the letter to the judge before the trial began. I told her, “I wrote this to you. It is what I want to say to you from the depths of my heart. Please read it.” She accepted the letter.
My mother was sentenced to three years in prison two months after the trial. We hired a lawyer and appealed to a higher court. During the appeal, we frequently talked to the judges about Falun Gong.
During a meeting with my mother, the lawyer noticed that she was emaciated. At their previous meeting she had not been. He asked the detention center to have her examined. After a week, we had not received a response from the detention center, so we reported the situation to the prosecutor stationed at the detention center and explained the facts about Falun Gong to him.
At our insistence, my mother was finally examined. She was diagnosed with hypertension, a cerebral infarction, and inflammation of the gall bladder. We knew that all of these were illusions and that Master is looking after us.
We visited my mother after the exam. Many practitioners also came to send righteous thoughts. Watching my mother enter the visiting room, emaciated and handcuffed, I was very upset. I calmed myself, knowing that I should support her with righteous thoughts.
Although the visitors’ phones were tapped and there were cameras in the room, the other practitioners were not afraid and held strong righteous thoughts. Many of them talked to my mother and shared their thoughts with her.
Whenever we went to the detention center, my father took every opportunity to talk to people. Many of them understood that Falun Gong is being persecuted, and they quit the Chinese Communist Party and its affiliated organizations.
Oue lawyer requested bail for my mother for medical treatment. The court rejected the request without even holding a hearing. When we heard that they were sending my mother to prison, all the other practitioners sent righteous thoughts to reject the persecution.
The next day I had a strong flash of intuition that my mother had not been sent to prison. We went to the detention center the following day and discovered that the prison had rejected my mother for health reasons. Master told us,
“When disciples have ample righteous thoughtsMaster has the power to turn back the tide”(“The Master-Disciple Bond” from Hong Yin Vol. II)
I was deeply moved and thanked Master.
When applying for my mother’s bail, we also went through many tests. The bureau of justice said that my mother’s symptoms were not significant enough to qualify. They told us that the requirements had become tougher. However, we knew that Master has the final say on everything.
The bureau of justice asked us to first get “proof of residence” from our neighborhood committee. However, the committee stalled, not wanting to provide the necessary documentation. The deadline was approaching, so we went to the committee again. My father said to them, “You will have no power over my wife after she comes back.”
His comment prompted the head of the committee to call the department of justice. We were told to wait outside, but I overheard her saying, “That person put posters everywhere, and she got a warning. Her whole family practices Falun Gong.”
I was very upset, but I kept reminding myself that, as a practitioner, I should be tolerant. Master said, “Just by staying unaffected you will be able to handle all situations.” ("Teaching the Fa at the Conference in the Midwest-U.S.")
I understood that my mother had her path to walk in the detention center, and we had our paths to walk outside.
After she finished her call, the head of the committee wanted to go to our home to check the residence, and she asked personnel from the department of justice and the police station to go along. However, they did not want to go with her.
I went home ahead of her to clean up. I knelt down in front of Master's picture and asked Master to strengthen me. My father came home shortly afterwards. He told me that the committee agreed to provide the needed “proof of residence,” and we did not need to do anything else.
My mother returned home without any further difficulties, which was a rare occurrence in our area. Even the staff at the bureau of justice kept thinking that we had gotten the “proof of residence” by pulling some strings.
It was a miracle that my mother came home. As long as we keep righteous thoughts, Master is in control of everything. Many thanks to Master and for Master's compassionate grace!
