Additional Persecution News from China – January 8, 2016 (27 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 25 cities or counties in 10 provinces. According to this report, 25 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, at least 33 were illegally arrested, and the whereabouts of 1 is unknown.

1. [Ningde City, Fujian Province] Ms. Zheng Rongzhu Detained

Ms. Zheng Rongzhu from Dongfeng Village, Shuangcheng Town, Zherong County, was arrested by officers from the Zherong County Domestic Security Division and local police on December 30, 2015. She is held in the county detention center.

2. [Yushu City, Jilin Province] Mr. Wang Xuchun Tried

Mr. Wang Xuchun was arrested at home on December 30, 2015. He was put on trial on January 5, 2016.

3. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Huang Yongmei's Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Huang Yongmei was arrested by officers from the Sanshujie Police Station on the morning of January 6, 2016, for telling people about Falun Gong. The officers ransacked her home and confiscated all her Falun Gong books. Ms. Huang's whereabouts are unknown.

Mr. Bian Changxue from Shilituo Village in Sanshuitou Town was arrested by officers from the Sanshuitou Town Police Station on January 5, 2016.

Mr. Sun Yuguo was also arrested on January 6, 2016. His home was ransacked.

5. [Tianjin] Ms. Lu Lu Arrested

Ms. Lu Lu from the Lijiangli residential community in the Xiaohaidi area, Hexi District, was arrested at work by officers from the Hexi Police Department on December 30, 2015. She returned home the following day.

6. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Guo Peiling Detained

Ms. Guo Peiling was arrested on January 5, 2016, by officers from the Yaojia Police Station. They were under orders from the Lixia District 610 Office. She was detained for seven days.

7. [Beijing] Ms. Yang Xiuzhi Arrested

Ms. Yang Xiuzhi was arrested at home on January 3, 2016.

8. [Fengyang County, Anhui Province] Ms. Zhang Haiyan Detained

Ms. Zhang Haiyan was arrested on December 4, 2015, by officers from the Chuzhou City Police Department and the Fengyang County Police Department for telling people about Falun Gong. She is detained in the Fengyang County Detention Center.

9. [Shanghai] Mr. Zhang Yinquan and Wife Ms. Jin Huizhen Arrested

Mr. Zhang Yinquan and his wife Ms. Jin Huizhen from the Putuo District were arrested on December 18, 2015, by officers from the Putuo District 610 Office, the Domestic Security Division, and the Changfeng Police Station.

10. [Tongliao City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Eight Practitioners Officially Placed Under Arrest; Seven Practitioners Sentenced

Ms. Ji Liping, Ms. Tang Liwen, Ms. Zheng Jinling, Mr. Wang Tao, Mr. Zhang Hongtian, Ms. Xu Juan, Ms. Yue Liqun, and Mr. Lei Yingxin from the Horqin District have been officially placed under arrest.

Ms. Wang Lixia, Mr. Zhou Jinpeng, Ms. Wang Ying, Mr. Ding Liyan, Ms. Zhang Ping, Ms. Liu Xiurong, and Ms. Tian Xin have been sentenced to prison.

11. [Taiyuan City, Shanxi Province] Ms. Zhao Sumei and Mr. Zhao Cungui Detained

Ms. Zhao Sumei was recently arrested for having Falun Gong informational materials at home. She is detained in the city detention center.

Mr. Zhao Cungui was arrested at home by officers from the Jiancaoping Criminal Police Division. He was taken to the city detention center. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated a notebook computer, a printer, and a DVD burner.

12. [Dandong City, Liaoning Province] Six Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

The Donggang Court sentenced six practitioners on December 28, 2015.

Mr. Sun Yongqin was sentenced to eight years in prison, Mr. Zhang Wei to eight-and-a-half years, Ms. Chen Ying'e to eight years, Ms. Zhang Xiaoping to five years, Ms. Lin Zhiyan to five years, and Ms. Sun Yan to four years.

14. [Yingkou City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Lu Zhenlin Arrested

Mr. Lu Zhenlin was arrested on January 3, 2016, for distributing Falun Gong informational DVDs. The officers ransacked his home and confiscated Falun Gong books, an MP3, and paper currency with Falun Gong content. Mr. Lu returned home that afternoon.

15. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Miao Tanjun Detained for Suing Jiang Zemin

Mr. Miao Tanjun from Zhangqiu City was arrested by officers from the No. 1 Mingshui Police Station in the afternoon on January 5, 2016, for suing Jiang Zemin, the former head of the Chinese communist regime. He is detained in the Zhangqiu City Detention Center.

17. [Jiaozhou City, Shandong Province] Ms. Liu Yufeng Detained

Ms. Liu Yufeng, in her 40s, was arrested by officers from the Sanlihe Police Station on January 7, 2016. The officers ransacked her home in the Wangjiaxiaozhuang Village, Sanlihe area, and confiscated Falun Gong books. Ms. Liu is now in the Sanlihe Police Station.

Ms. Li Deying and Ms. Jiang Jinfeng were arrested on January 4, 2016 by Huang Xiaolan, head of the Lanshan County Domestic Security Division, and other officers for talking to people about Falun Gong. Mr. Jiang has returned home. Ms. Li is detained in the Lanshan County Detention Center.

Ms. He Yuzhen from Tuzhu Town in the Shizhong District was arrested on July 2, 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin. She was held in the Leshan Detention Center. It was reported on December 12, 2015, that Ms. He had been secretly sentenced to three years in prison. She was taken to the Sichuan Women's Prison.

23. [Weifang City, Shandong Province] Ms. Zhou Shihua Arrested

Ms. Zhou Shihua, from the family quarters of the Linqu County Construction Bank, was arrested at home by officers from the county police department on the morning of January 7, 2016,

24. [Chenzhou City, Hunan Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Liao Yuezhen, Ms. Deng Xiaochun, Ms. Yang Meifeng, and elderly Ms. Cao were arrested by officers from the Bailutang Police Station for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Tangxi Village, Bailutang Town, on the morning of January 6, 2016. Elderly Ms. Cao was released. The other three practitioners were taken to a detention center for a five-day detention.

25. [Tangshan City, Hebei Province] Ms. Wang Sujuan Arrested

Ms. Wang Sujuan from Chaoluowo Village, Chaoluowo Township, Yutian County, was arrested by officers from the Chaoluowo Township Police Station in the afternoon on January 7, 2016. She was taken to the Yutian County Police Department.
