Additional Persecution News from China – January 25, 2016 (10 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 9 cities or counties in 8 provinces. According to this report, 1 Falun Gong practitioner was subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 28 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Hu County, Shaanxi Province] Ms. Xiao Chunhong and Ms. Liu Yangli Arrested

Ms. Xiao Chunhong and Ms. Liu Yangli, employees of the Hu County Power Plant, were arrested on January 18, 2016 for telling people about the persecution of Falun Gong.

2. [Ulan Hot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Liu Guangyan Arrested

Ms. Liu Guangyan was arrested on January 22, 2016, for talking to people about Falun Gong. Her home was ransacked.

3. [Guanghan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Zeng Lingxiu Officially Placed Under Arrest

Ms. Zeng Lingxiu from Guihua Village in Jinlun Town was reported to police and arrested by officers from Jinlun Town Police Station when distributing Falun Gong informational materials on December 25, 2015. She was officially placed under arrest.

4. [Qinglong County, Hebei Province] Mr. Liu Dehai Detained

Mr. Liu Dehai was arrested by officers from the Qinglong County Police Department Domestic Security Division and the Pingfangzi Police Station on January 14, 2016. He was detained for 10 days.

5. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Li Yulan and Mr. Yang Xiaogang Arrested

Ms. Li Yulan and Mr. Yang Xiaogang were arrested on January 23, 2016. Her computer and printer were confiscated.

6. [Qinhuangdao City, Hebei Province] Ms. Yang Yuzhu Detained

Ms. Yang Yuzhu from Zaoyuan Village, Niutouya Town, Beidaihe New District, was arrested and taken to the Qinhuangdao Detention Center by officers from the Niutouya Town Police Station. She was detained for 10 days.

7. [Huaiyang County, Henan Province] Ms. Chen Dourong Not Able to Talk

Ms. Chen Dourong and 16 other practitioners were arrested by Cheng Weifeng and other officers from the Huaiyang County Police Department on May 13, 2015. Of the 17 practitioners arrested, 14 were released after police extorted funds from them.

Those who did not pay the police are still in custody. Ms. Chen Dourong, 65, was severely beaten by four people before she was taken to the Zhoukou Detention Center. She was again severely beaten by detention center guards in July 2015. She suffered a stroke and was taken to the Zhoukou Chinese Medicine Hospital, where she passed out and became incontinent. She was guarded by people dispatched from the detention center. She is still unable to talk.

8. [Fuxin City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ye Hongmei Detained

Ms. Ye Hongmei was arrested by officers from the Hongshu Police Station in the Taiping District on the afternoon on January 17, 2016. She was detained for 10 days in the Xindi Lockup. She was transferred to the Xindi Detention Center on January 21, 2016.

Ms. Shao Aifen was arrested on January 22, 2016.

10. [Jiamusi City, Heilongjiang Province] Ms. Chen Jing and Ms. Guo Yuzhu Detained

Ms. Chen Jing and Ms. Guo Yuzhu were arrested at Ms. Chen's residence by officers from the Jiamusi City Police Department and Jiaoqu Police Department on January 21, 2016. The officers confiscated a computer, a printer, photos of the founder of Falun Gong, and cell phones from Ms. Guo's home. Both practitioners are being held in the Jiamusi City Detention Center.
