(Minghui.org) My daughter was threatened with expulsion from high school if she refused to join in slandering Falun Gong as part of an indoctrination effort by the communist government. Instead of joining in, she stood by her faith and won the admiration of her classmates.
My daughter and I had many health issues in the past, and we often visited the hospital for treatment. We started to practice Falun Gong in 1997. For the last 19 years, we have not needed any medications or other medical treatments.
In July 1999, when the Communist Party started its persecution of Falun Gong, my daughter was a freshman in high school. The school administrators soon held an event to attack Falun Gong. They ordered every student to sign their name on a defamatory statement. Anyone who did not sign would be expelled from school.
My daughter knew that Falun Gong is good and refused to sign. One of her classmates was afraid that my daughter would be expelled, and secretly signed my daughter's name on the defamatory statement.
When my daughter learned what she had done, she asked her teacher to remove her name. “You might be expelled,” the teacher said. “Please think carefully about this.” My daughter still insisted that her signature be removed.
The teacher pleaded with school administrators not to expel my daughter. “She is an excellent student. Please do not do this.”
The Party Secretary of the school then asked my daughter to write a statement promising that she would not do Falun Gong exercises at school and that she would not tell others about Falun Gong. My daughter refused.
She was told not to come to school the next day. She was ordered to submit the statement within a week or face expulsion.
A week later, my daughter went back to school without the statement.
The Party Secretary lectured my daughter the whole afternoon and tried to persuade her. My daughter said nothing.
Finally, her patience wearing, the secretary shouted at her, “You'' be expelled. You'll regret this if you don't do it. Will you do it?”
My daughter replied calmly, “If you expel me, it is you who will feel regret.”
The next day, my daughter went to school as usual.
