(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 14 cities or counties in 11 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, at least 12 were illegally arrested, and the whereabouts of 1 is unknown.

1. [Ganzhou City, Jiangxi Province] Ms. Li Lanying Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Li Lanying from Xingguo County was arrested in April 2015. She is detained in the Xingguo County Detention Center. She was sentenced to eight years in prison in December 2015.

2. [Chongqing] Ms. Zou Hualan and Ms. Guo Yunqing Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zou Hualan was recently sentenced to one year and nine months and Ms. Guo Yunqing to one year and six months in prison by the Yubei District Court.

3. [Huludao City, Liaoning Province] Six Practitioners Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Zhu Yun and four other practitioners were arrested by police officers from the Lianshan District Domestic Security Division on July 24, 2014.

The Huludao City Court sentenced Ms. Zhu Yun to six years, Ms. Wang Yingci to four-and-a-half years, Mr. Xing Jiaqiu to three-and-a-half years, Ms. Zhang Xiuying to three years, Ms. Gu Fengli to one-and-a-half years, and Mr. Gao Zuokui to one-year-and-three-months in prison on September 25, 2015.

All six practitioners appealed to the Huludao Intermediate Court. The Court upheld the original sentences.

4. [Fangzheng County, Heilongjiang Province] Mr. Li Chang'an Taken to Prison

Mr. Li Chang'an was sentenced to a 12 year prison term. He is imprisoned in the Training Team, Hulan Prison.

5. [Zunhua City, Hebei Province] Three Practitioners Detained

Ms. Yan Guoyan, Mr. Zhao Baoming, and Mr. Zhi Hua, from East Jiuzhai Town, were recently arrested. Mr. Zhi was detained for 15 days. Mr. Zhao was detained for 10 days. Ms. Yan was first detained for 15 days, but her term in the Zunhua Detention Center was extended.

6. [Shanghai] Ms. Ren Liyun and Mr. Wang Zhiliang Detained

Ms. Ren Liyun and Mr. Wang Zhiliang from the Pudong District were arrested by officers from the Sichuan Road Police Station for distributing Falun Gong informational materials on January 15, 2016. Both practitioners were held in the Hongkou District Detention Center.

7. [Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province] Ms. Shang Sulan Arrested

Ms. Shang Sulan was recently arrested at her child's home in Beijing.

8. [Jinan City, Shandong Province] Mr. Liang Huaguang Detained

Mr. Liang Huaguang from Lixia District was arrested at home by officers from the Jianxin Police Station on January 7, 2016. He was detained for seven days.

9. [Jiaozuo City, Henan Province] Ms. Pang Yinfeng Arrested

Ms. Pang Yinfeng, 70, was arrested by officers from the Macun Police Station on December 28, 2016.

10. [Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province] Ms. Chen Xiufen Taken to Brainwashing Center

Ms. Chen Xiufen, a retired teacher from the Dengfeng Elementary School, was arrested by officers from the Dengfeng Police Department and the local 610 Office on January 5, 2016. She was taken to the Chatou Brainwashing Center.

11. [Nanjing City, Jiangsu Province] Ms. Gu Xinfang Remains in Custody

Ms. Gu Xinfang, in her 70s, from the Yaohuamen area, Qixia District, was arrested by officers from the Yaohuamen Police Station on November 14, 2015. She has not been released at the time of writing.

12. [Guilin City, Guangxi Province] Ms. Lei Youying Whereabouts Unknown

Ms. Lei Youying from Yangshuo County was arrested for distributing Falun Gong informational materials in Maling Town, Lipu County at noon on January 17, 2016. Her whereabouts are unknown.

13. [Tianshui City, Gansu Province] Three Practitioners Detained and Salary Stopped for Suing Jiang Zemin

Ms. Wang Caifeng, Ms. Kang Yueju, and Ms. Pei Yinlan, who are employed in the education system in Maiji District, were arrested in November 2015 for suing Jiang Zemin. They were detained for 10 days. The Education Department and their work unit personnel demanded they write the “three statements” that they would give up Falun Gong. Their salaries have been suspended by the Education Department since January 2016.

14. [Bazhong City, Sichuan Province] Mr. Qi Taihe Detained

Mr. Qi Taihe, from the No. 5 Team, Dingshan Town, the Bazhou District, was reported to police for unknown reasons. She was arrested by officers from the Dingshan Town Police Station on January 7, 2016 and is held in the Bazhong Detention Center.
