(Minghui.org) I'm a faculty member in a Chinese university and have benefited tremendously from practicing Falun Dafa over the past dozen years. A lot of Chinese people have grave misunderstandings about the practice, due to influence from the Chinese Communist Party's (CCP) lies and propaganda.
I would like to share my experience of witnessing Dafa's supernormal power in my work.
When answering a Ph.D. student's question Master said,
“Studying the Fa well definitely won't affect anything of yours in your cultivation, and on the contrary, it will help you get twice the results at your job or with your schoolwork with half the effort.” (“Explaining the Fa During the 2003 Lantern Festival at the U.S. West Fa Conference”)
Studying the Fa and doing the exercises are my daily must-do. I try my best to do them with a pure mind. It was hard at first, but as I persisted, I was eventually able to do it.
I concentrate on my research during the day and have found that I am highly efficient in my work and have a lot of inspiration. Sometimes I can finish my work within a few hours, while others might take days or even a month. My research topics are in the field of sustainable energy. This also requires extensive knowledge in mechanics and computer simulation. Inspiration comes to me in every area I work on, and I get twice the results with half the effort.
I was under a huge amount of pressure at work during the latter half of 2009, due to being involved in a national project as well taking care of my other work.
I did the Dafa exercises with a pure mind one day, then started reading an article by a foreign scholar. I suddenly had an inspiration on how to solve a problem I had encountered. "Sophisticated matrix structures" suddenly came to my mind. I hurried to look up information about it and wrote a computer program to suit. The problem was resolved in three days.
The programming alone involved a complicated mathematical algorithm. It was miraculous how my inspiration worked at that time. I still can't completely understand the theory behind it, but my simulation programming worked perfectly and can be commonly applied to other problems. I'm still using it now.
The most interesting thing is that I couldn't understand a part of my programming when I revisited it a year later. All I found was my note next to my code: “How did I do it? Maybe divine beings were directing me?!”
Similar things have happened many times.
Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance are Falun Dafa principles. The first is “Truthfulness.” I have been rewarded generously for following the principles and being truthful in my work.
Writing a quality research paper is critical in academic research. Nowadays, plagiarism and made-up research data are rampant in China. Some people do anything to try to be “accomplished” in their field.
I stand firm on my principles as a Dafa practitioner. If I find anything wrong with my experiment, data, or simulation, I immediately stop and correct it, no matter how close it is to the submission deadline. I search my own heart to see if I have any pursuit for fortune, fame, or immediate benefit.
I gave a talk to graduate students at my university last semester on how to produce quality research papers. I am always concerned that an incorrect research paper, once published, will mislead other researchers. Some Ph.D. students might waste a year of research because of a previous researcher's mistake. It would be terrible.
At the end of the talk, I told them about two of my research papers to illustrate how heaven's law rewards hard work and being truthful.
I found a problem while writing my first research paper. I could have let it slip, but since I followed the principle of “Truthfulness,” I worked on it until I finally solved the problem. The solution then gave me further inspiration, which resulted in my second paper.
I told the students that heavenly beings are watching and that heaven's laws restrict us all. If a person uses false data or techniques, he or she might not be able to move any further in their academic field. I summarized this in plain language for my students: Divine beings are watching everyone's every thought and action.
The students and the faculty member sponsor listened quietly. I could feel their hearts were shaken.
Master said,
“I said long ago that a person will have to bear the consequences of everything he does in this world; whatever he has done, he will have to pay for it via karmic retribution.” (“Fa Teaching at the 2013 Western U.S. Fa Conference”)
Hard and honest work results in rewards. My second research paper was published within three months of its submission. Others thought that was amazing, but the wonder comes from the profound and supernormal Dafa.
Most university students in China don't know traditional Chinese culture or anything about their ancestors. They are heavily influenced by the CCP's culture, even though they don't believe in Marxism and even curse the Communist Party. Their words and behaviors reflect that of atheism.
Whenever a spiritual topic is mentioned, they dismiss it as unreal, illusory, and superstitious. Their minds are filled with the mentality of the Communist Party, which could lead them to make dangerous decisions in the future, such as getting involved in corruption or working to destroy nature.
I often tell my students about our traditional culture, the true stories in science and philosophy, scientists' faith, and the world outside of China. I tell my students that science isn't the same as atheism.
Even though it is a good deed out of a cultivator's compassion, it is no easy thing to do in a Chinese university, given the rampant persecution of Falun Dafa practitioners.
The Communist Party secretary in our university continued to put pressure on me and suppress me during the last six months of 2009 due to my belief.
I was ordered to teach 10 undergraduate classes on top of my research work. It was a very difficult time for me, but I believe that the evil cannot suppress the righteous, and I eventually came through this difficult time.
More than 10 years of tempering in the scientific field has earned me status as a true scholar. I have led many funded research projects and published several quality research articles in top journals in China and abroad. I was also nominated for the International Eni Award, a renowned award in the field of sustainable energy.
In a society where Dafa practitioners are brutally persecuted; people are deceived by the CCP and discriminate against Dafa practitioners; and there is pressure and interference at work, at home, and in society, I always remember Master's words:
“It’s hard to endure, but you can endure it. It’s hard to do, but you can do it.” (Zhuan Falun)
