(Minghui.org) I brought my work unit administration team to court last year for illegally firing me because of my faith in Falun Gong.
Before the trial, I wrote a letter to the public and told people how much I had suffered due to the persecution, and why it was illegal to persecute Falun Gong. I also invited the public to attend the hearing of my case. I signed the letter with my real name and phone number.
With fellow practitioners’ help, I distributed the invitation to almost everyone in the neighborhood, and also posted it in all the major supermarkets and other public places in town.
While I was waiting for my trial, I received a phone call from a person who asked if I publicly invited people to my trial, and wrote a letter to the public. “You attack the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), so of course the CCP persecutes you,” he accused.
I explained, “I didn’t attack anyone, but simply told people the facts about Falun Gong and the persecution. The CCP can only fool those who blindly follow its doctrines, but cannot subdue me because I follow the principles of Falun Gong.”
He murmured something to himself then said, “I know it’s wrong to persecute Falun Gong, and your work unit should not have fired you because of your faith. However, you still should not have publicly done anything against the CCP because only a small number of people in it want to persecute Falun Gong. Persecuting Falun Gong is not written in Chinese law, and the current central government does not persecute Falun Gong, right?”
Based on how much he knew about Falun Gong and the persecution, I could tell that the caller must be a government official or someone who worked in the law enforcement agencies because we had mailed informational materials about Falun Gong to them before. He could also have read my legal complaint against Jiang Zemin, the former Chinese leader who launched the persecution.
I told him, “I can tell that you’re a kind-hearted person. I respect your personal opinion, but think about it -- even though Jiang Zemin personally launched the persecution of Falun Gong, many years have passed since Jiang’s retirement, and the CCP’s throne has switched hands a couple of times, yet the persecution is still going on.”
He was quiet.
I continued, “Jiang could not persecute Falun Gong by himself. Within the CCP’s system, the mechanism that persecutes Falun Gong, such as the “610 Office,” is still operating. As a matter of fact, if you’ve read our materials, you should know the fact that through its numerous political movements, the CCP has persecuted millions of Chinese people.”
He listened quietly for a few minutes, and then said, “I have to go now, but I’ll come to court to support you if I can.”
Before the trial, I handed out materials about the persecution of Falun Gong and about the CCP's forced organ harvesting crimes, to people who worked on my trial including the judge. I also gave them copies of software that they could use to bypass the CCP’s internet firewall and access websites that are banned in China.
Before the opening of the trial, the judge told me privately that they had studied my case, and read the materials I gave them. As the trial convened, the judge asked me, “The materials you turned in to us before the trail are not connected to your case, correct?” I answered, “Correct.” He then declared that the trial would proceed.
My work unit’s attorneys reminded the judge several times that I distributed materials with information about Falun Gong, and also posted their contact information including phone numbers on a website, but the judge simply ignored them.
Lots of people showed up at the court that day. Personnel from “610 Office”, and plain-clothes policemen were paroling outside the court house. The entire local public security force was dispatched to guard the court house. Inside the court house, police officers occupied the best seats.
A special team was particularly formed by the local government to handle my case, and many people including some government officials attended the trial.
After the trial, the judge secretly quit his membership in the CCP.
Another reason why I invited the public to hear my trial is to tell people that there are witnesses and evidence that prove that the CCP’s government and military-run hospitals are killing Falun Gong practitioners for their organs and selling the organs for profit. Many people learned about the organ harvesting atrocities for the first time during my court hearing.
Some people who witnessed my trial told me that they would not say anything bad about Falun Gong anymore, and some said expressed appreciation for having been informed of the real situation behind the persecution.
