Additional Persecution News from China – March 5, 2016 (18 Reports)

(Minghui.org) Today's news from China includes incidents of persecution that took place in 18 cities or counties in 12 provinces. According to this report, 13 Falun Gong practitioners were subjected to mistreatment during their detention, and at least 19 practitioners were illegally arrested.

1. [Panjin City, Liaoning Province] Mr. Han Chonghui and Ms. Wang Xiuying Sentenced

The Shuangtai District Court sentenced Mr. Han Chonghui to three and a half years and Ms. Wang Xiuying to three years in prison, on February 25, 2016.

2. [Dalian City, Liaoning Province] Ms. Liu Junling Sentenced to Prison

Ms. Liu Junling was arrested on October 23, 2014. She was sentenced to three years in prison by the Ganjingzi District Court on December 23, 2015.

3. [Lechang City, Guangdong Province] Ms. He Zhuhong Held in Custody

Ms. He Zhuhong was arrested when her identity card was being checked at the train station on the afternoon of March 2, 2016. She was taken into custody at the Lechang City Domestic Security Division.

4. [Wuhan City, Hubei Province] Ms. Wang Aiqiong Detained

Ms. Wang Aiqiong was arrested by the police when she was distributing Falun Gong informational materials on the morning of January 30, 2016. She was detained for 15 days.

5. [Dujiangyan City, Sichuan Province] Ms. Gan Xuemei Detained

Ms. Gan Xuemei was arrested by officers from the Xiang'e Township Police Station on the afternoon of March 3, 2016. She was detained for 10 days in the Dujiangyan City Detention Center.

6. [Jining City, Shandong Province] Ms. Chen Arrested

Ms. Chen was arrested by officers from the Nanzhang Police Station in the Rencheng District when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on February 27, 2016.

7. [Zhuolu County, Hebei Province] Ms. Tang Guifang and Ms. Song Yuying Arrested

Ms. Tang Guifang and Ms. Song Yuying were arrested and taken to the Zhuolu County Police Department by plainclothes officers when they were telling people about Falun Gong on the morning of March 1, 2016. The officers took 2,000 yuan from Ms. Tang's home and the 1,000 yuan Ms. Song carried with her. Both practitioners returned home that afternoon.

8. [Qingyuan County, Hebei Province] Ms. Li Guilian Detained

Ms. Li Guilian from Nanhezhuang Village in Wenren Township was arrested by township government personnel when telling people about Falun Gong at a farmers' market in Nandeng Village on the morning of March 3, 2016. She is being held in the Qingyuan County Detention Center.

9. [Qingyuan County, Liaoning Province] Mr. Wang Nanfang Arrested

Mr. Wang Nanfang was arrested at home by the police at noon on March 4, 2016. The officers confiscated a notebook computer, a cell phone, Falun Gong books, and printed materials. His whereabouts are unknown.

10. [Shihezi City, Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region] Ms. Luan Detained

Ms. Luan, 50, was arrested in early February 2016. She is held in the Shihezi No. 1 Detention Center.

11. [Xupu County, Hunan Province] Ms. Shen Dexiu Arrested

Ms. Shen Dexiu from Dajiangkou Town was arrested by officers from the Jiangkou Police Station when she was talking to people about Falun Gong on March 4, 2016.

12. [Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region] Ms. Shang Fenghua Arrested

Ms. Shang Fenghua from the Songshan District was arrested by officers from the Songzhou Police Station in the Songshan District on the afternoon of March 3, 2016 for suing Jiang Zemin.

Ms. Shi Guanglan from Duozhuang Town was arrested by officers from the Zhangqiu City 610 Office and the Duozhuang Police Station on February 4, 2016. She was taken to the Zhonggong Detention Center in Jinan City.

Ms. Ren Xiaoqing was arrested by officers from the Wucheng Police Station on the morning of March 1, 2016.

15. [Zhaoyuan City, Shandong Province] Ms. Shan Yuqi Held in Custody

Ms. Shan Yuqi was arrested by officers from the Biguo Police Station on February 1, 2016. She is held in the Biguo Police Station.

16. [Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province] Eight Practitioners Arrested

Mr. Wang Shouming, Ms. Peng Liqin, Mr. Chen Tao, Ms. Zhou Guizhen, Ms. Yang, Ms. Huang, Ms. Ma Guixian, and Mr. Jia Yunfeng, all from the Zhongshan District, were arrested by officers from the Zhongshan District Domestic Security Division on the afternoon of February 26, 2016. The officers ransacked their homes.

Ms. Yang was held for two days. She was released after the officers extorted 2,000 yuan. Mr. Wang Shouming, Ms. Peng Liqin, and Ms. Ma Guixian have returned home. Mr. Chen Tao, Mr. Jia Yunfeng, and Zhou Guizhen remain in the Liupanshui City Detention Center.

17. [Xinbin County, Liaoning Province] Ms. Ma Enzhi and Ms. Yin Guiqin Held in Prison

Ms. Ma Enzhi and Ms. Yin Guiqin were arrested by the police when they were talking to people about Falun Gong on February 26, 2016. Both practitioners are held in the Women's Ward of the Nangou Detention Center in Fushun City.

18. [Jidong County, Heilongjiang Province] Five Practitioners Arrested

Ms. Guo Xiurong, Ms. Zhang Liping, Ms. Lu Wenfan, Ms. Liu Shuqin, and Ms. Liu Xiumei, from Yong'an Town, were arrested by officers from the Jidong County Domestic Security Division and the Yong'an Police Station when they were telling people about Falun Gong at noon on February 29, 2016. Ms. Lu Wenfan, Ms. Zhang Liping, and Liu Xiumei were detained for seven days in the Jixi Detention Center. Ms. Guo Xiurong and Ms. Liu Shuqin have returned home.
